Location:

This position will be hybrid-working in the field, remotely and the office. The person in this role may be located in Central OR Southwest, KS.

Opportunity:

We are seeking an outside of the box thinker, that is goal focused, and collaborative. As the Construction Project Manager you will lead the construction activities that are required to expand our fiber optic network. As a leader of construction projects, you will be responsible from project initiation through final closeout. We are looking for someone that has worked in construction or a construction project manager position that can bring their knowledge to our growing team! This opportunity may be located in Central or Southwest Kansas (some examples include but are not limited to: Buhler, Wichita, Dodge City, Garden City, Liberal, or Fowler )

This is a Contractor role that will be working full time hours for 6-12 months to support business need.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Drive construction projects to completion within established priorities, scopes, schedules, and budgets
  • Lead the construction project through the project life cycle (Design, Estimating, Procurement, Construction, Closeout)
  • Pursue and obtain competitive pricing from construction contractors
  • Monitor materials that are required for projects and work with procurement to ensure appropriate materials are available to meet the project schedule
  • Implement strategies that will create a positive work environment and a culture of continuous improvement
  • Manage to timelines and constraints, ensuring there is clear communication to all stakeholders
  • Utilize creative problem solving skills to identify unique solutions
  • Provide schedule updates and status of specific project activities
  • Identify, understand and actively manage project risks (schedule impacts, scope gaps, weather, material shortages, equipment breakdowns and manpower requirements and develop mitigation plans for these impacts)
  • Proactively communicate, collaborate and solve issues with internal and external stakeholders (engineering, property/land owners, cities, counties, townships, KDOT and additional stakeholders)
  • Lead all aspects of the companys safety culture and create awareness by demonstrating commitment to an injury-free environment through individual actions and mentoring others
  • Willingness to visit project sites first hand to see issues and solve problems

Requirements

  • 4+ years experience working in a construction or construction project manager position
  • Leadership experience
  • High School Diploma or equivalent

Preferences:

  • Telecommunications Outside Plant Design, Construction, Maintenance, or Estimating Experience
  • Knowledge of Construction Methods (Vaults, Pedestals, Duct, Cable Placement) and aerial construction methods (Pole Attachments, Separation Distances, Tensions/Sag)
  • Familiarity with Telecommunications Fiber Maps (Vetro and others)
  • Bachelor\'s degree in Construction Project Management
