This involves representing the Baby Talk program at partner locations through basic client interactions such as scheduling and follow-up (either in person or by phone). This position is to provide daily support for virtual and in person (when they resume) classes and instructors, participant needs, data collection and data entry, and administrative support including maintaining inventory, addressing phone calls and assisting with community events. The responsibilities also include creating a positive experience for clients to encourage class attendance, proactively engaging with the client to identify barriers to program involvement and creating connections between clients and community resources by establishing trusting relationships. As a member of the Baby Talk team, the CHA will serve as an integral link between partner locations and clients.Compensation: This position will pay $16.06 per hour.Job Description:Required Qualifications: High School Diploma / GED (or higher) Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to work effectively with diverse staff and varied community cultures both in person and by phone Strong computer skills including experience with data entry programs and ability to work with email, the internet and Microsoft Word, Access, Excel and PowerPoint Ability to maintain confidentiality Ability to effectively organize and concurrently manage daily tasks Ability to work within a team atmosphere Familiarity with the resources available in the community Reliable transportation Available some evenings and weekendsPreferred Qualifications: Experience working with community-based programs and community members Experience working within hospital or heath care systems, health departments and/or clinics Experience with data collection and entry Experience working with the KanCare system and/or the uninsured population Ability to speak, read, and understand SpanishJob Duties Outlined: Program Support- 60% Serve as the liaison between the partnering sites, volunteers, clients, the Baby Talk team members Facilitate class logistics Assists with scheduling clients to each class in the data portal system (e.g. Microsoft Access) Monitor supplies and needed materials (maintaining inventory) Provide communication to clients, educators and those involved in classes regarding the schedule Identify and work with clients to resolve barriers to program participation as directed Consult with Baby Talk team and partner locations if scheduling changes occur Use the standardized reminder systems for all participants (e.g. text message or reminder calls) Provide consistent communication to the Baby Talk instructors and Baby Talk administrative team to provide updates related to the program and ensure issues are addressed and progress is made Data Collection and Entry - 30% Obtain necessary paperwork from clients Enter data relative to the program from all sites Administrative Support - 10% Attend Baby Talk site meetings and assisting with scheduling Maintain inventory at assigned locations including client paperwork, class materials, educational support materials and updated resource brochures/handouts Assemble class binders and ensure resource bins are supplied Other administrative duties as requeste d by the Program Director and/or Baby Talk team Remain up to date on community resources and services provided to facilitate meeting Baby Talk participants' needs outside of what the program provides Maintain a set schedule of hours at clinical locations to foster relationships and provided program-related support Provide basic information and access to resources to participants as needed Marginal Functions Other projects as requested by the Program Director or Baby Talk teamRequired Documents: Resume/CV and Cover Letter required to be considered for positionEmployee Type:RegularTime Type:Full timePay Rate Type:HourlyPay Grade:A06Pay Range:Minimum14.74Midpoint17.93Maximum21.37Application Instructions:To learn more and apply online, please visit https://apptrkr.com/2018466 or go to https://jobs.kumc.edu/ and search for position number JR000668.Applications must be submitted directly through the KU Medical Center website to be considered for this position.
