WSP is currently initiating a search for a Full-Time Civil Engineer for our Wichita, KS office.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Assist and support design teams in the execution of projects, including preliminary design, final design and construction support services;

  • Perform design tasks under the direction of senior engineers, including geometric design, drainage, grading, and work zone traffic control

  • Provide support in the development of construction drawings, reports, cost estimates, and specifications

  • Discover, Discuss and Propose solutions to technical issues;

  • Attend client meetings and develop relationships with clients and other stakeholders;

  • Assist and coordinate with key staff across disciplines (i.e. traffic, structures) as necessary in project development

  • Maintain positive Team relationships

Job Requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3+ Years Experience in design of Transportation projects

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in accredited Civil Engineering Undergraduate or Graduate program

  • Completion and Passing of the FE Exam with a goal to obtain Professional Engineering status

  • Exercise responsible and ethical decision-making regarding company funds, resources and conduct and adhere to WSP’s Code of Conduct and related policies and procedures

  • Proven track record of upholding workplace safety and ability to abide by WSP’s health, safety and drug/alcohol and harassment policies

  • This role is subject to a client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy. As such, employee may be subject to random drug/alcohol tests. A copy of the client mandated drug/alcohol testing policy will be provided during employee onboarding and is available upon applicant request.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working with KDOT and other local agencies

  • Hands-on experience with Microstation or Autocad platforms including working knowledge of OpenRoads or Civil3D software

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications
