Chemical Milling 2
This occupation requires the milling of less complex parts and/or assemblies to finished dimensions by processing them through chemical solutions according to established procedure. Operates processing tank equipment and taper milling equipment as required.
I. Checks scribe lines, making compound on parts before etching.
II. Secure information on rate of etch and rate of immersion, quality, and temperature of solution.
III. Process parts and assemblies through correct sequence of operation to acquire proper dimensions in accordance with schedules, specifications, etc.
IV. Assist in diagnosing and correcting cause of discrepancies which occur most frequently such as etch pits, mask failures, etc.
V. Load and unload parts and assemblies from racks or holding devices.
VI. Perform any other functions in area such as masking, scribing, trimming etc.
Requires knowledge of materials, processes, and tooling. Requires use of thermometer, hydrometer, micrometer, voltmeter, etc. Ability to work from complicated prints and specifications. Requires equivalent to high school plus minimum of two years of specialized trades training.
Requires minimum 12 months of experience.
