Work Schedule: M-F, 8a-5p with flexibility

Provide supervision to a team of Case Managers at COMCARE Children Services and serve as a skilled leader to ensure employees are successfully learning, engaging, and adhering to the day to day operations of our agency. Possess a strong knowledge of Children and Family work and resources. Provide supervision to employees, act as a mentor, and provide ongoing training to employees. Provide direct services to clients as needed. Participate in program planning, development, the hiring process, and maintain accurate records. Draw upon their experience and knowledge to create paths to help employees and patients achieve their treatment goals. Establish/follow business practices that embrace the County values and the Sedgwick County’s strategic plan. Fosters harmonious working relationships with others and has regular/reliable attendance.


+ Plan and participate in team meetings to review case activity, engage in team problem solving and provide administrative direction through the dissemination of information and interpretation of company policy.

+ Attend case management leadership meetings facilitated by program managers.

+ Identify needs for training, policy changes and program improvement.

+ Delegate or provide coverage for absent team members

+ Investigate and mediate client and/or employee complaints.

Resource Management

+ Regularly review patient service hours and documentation completion reports to ensure performance measures are being met.

+ Review and approve: timesheets, planned employee absence requests, and flex fund reimbursement requests for goal directed work completed with individual clients.

+ Ensure that the following are completed in a timely manner for all assigned staff members: progress notes, treatment plans as needed, financial reviews for clients as needed.

+ Identify and foster strong working relationships with other community providers

+ Ensure confidential communication of patient health information

+ Monitor adherence to treatment plans, evaluate effectiveness, monitor patient progress in a timely manner and facilitate changes as needed

Employee Development

+ Participate in the screening, hiring and orientation of new staff members.

+ Ensure all staff members are trained on performance expectations and documentation standards, as well as, administrative duties, and Sedgwick County/COMCARE policies and procedures.

+ Complete interim reviews and annual performance evaluations for assigned staff members and submit to COMCARE human resources staff on time.

+ Meet with assigned staff to create professional development goals -and approve staff use of designated professional development funds.

+ Meet with assigned staff for regularly scheduled, individual supervision and maintain documentation regarding the content of the supervisory conference. Supervision shall occur no less than once each month and may be more frequent, as needed to support the employee’s job performance.

M inimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree or be equivalently qualified by work experience or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education. If no degree is present applicant may substitute each one year of experience for one year of education. One year experience working in a Community Mental Health Center and/or have a demonstrated knowledge and work history of leadership or supervisory skills. Must have a valid Kansas Driver’s license and current proof of automobile insurance.
