Summary of Responsibilities: This position will have experience/potential teaching relevant subjects at the undergraduate and/or graduate level course work and/or relevant experience in a health care setting. Faculty in tenure teaching positions teach four courses per academic year (two per semester; undergraduate and/or graduate), with their time allocated to teaching (40%), research (40%) and service activities (20%). While content areas are open, expertise in healthcare finance is highly preferred. The candidate will be expected to develop a research agenda that will lead to applications for external funding. Research will be conducted in topics related to health care. Regular peer-reviewed publications and presentations are expected. Additional duties include working collaboratively with other faculty in teaching, research, service, advising/mentoring, curriculum development, program assessment and accreditation; participating as an active liaison with prospective students, local/ state/national health care communities and accrediting officials; fostering positive networks/relationships with the local health care community; regularly attending and participating in faculty meetings and retreats; and acting as a representative ofPHSat activities as needed. This 9-month appointment starts August 2023.

Position Description Information:

Reqular Hours of Work: Monday-Friday, with hours dependent on the classes assigned, most will be in the afternoons and evenings. Some weekends to attend graduation and other university events

Environmental Factors: Typical online and in-person classroom environments.

Proposed Job Duties:

  • Responsibility / Duty 1. Research:Actively participate in Departmental research teams and other research initiatives 2. Establish a record of scholarly research, publication and presentations that leads to funding. Importance (E) Essential Percentage 40%
  • Responsibility / Duty Service: Work collaboratively with other faculty in teaching, program development, assessment and service. Participate in faculty meetings and retreats. Act as representative of the program as needed. Importance (E) Essential Percentage 20%

Explain Physical Requirements: Faculty will teach in person courses in classrooms which will require standing in front of class, lecturing (verbal), seeing and hearing students and answering their questions, sitting at a computer in office. Faculty will teach online. Computer use will be occasionally repetitive. Research will be typical for this osition.
