  • Schedule: Full Time, 40 hours weekly, Monday - Thursday, 7:30am - 6pm, Off on Fridays

Responsibilities

Provide a safe environment for children.

  • Ensure children are supervised at all times.

  • Ensure the environment is safe, clean and in good repair. Report deficiencies to supervisor immediately.

  • Follow acceptable protocol when accepting children for child care coverage.

  • Interact with children and parents appropriately.

  • Assist in maintaining the ordered arrangement, appearance, d├ęcor, and learning environment of the classroom while allowing for the expressive and creative involvement and interaction of children.

Requirements

Licensure / Certification / Registration:

  • Heart Saver AED obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American HeartAssociation or American Red Cross accepted. . In lieu of Heart Saver, Pediatric CPR and First Aid through ASHI, AHA or LifeSaver Learning, Inc. obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transferdate will be accepted.

  • Food Service Professional credentialed from the ServSafe National Restaurant Association obtained within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date. Will accept Food Handler Card through Food Handler Essentials Course through State Food Safety within 1 Month (30 days) of hire or job transfer date required.

Education:

  • High School diploma equivalency OR 1 year of applicable cumulative job specific experience required.

  • Note: Required professional licensure/certification can be used in lieu of education or experience,if applicable

Additional Preferences

  • Minimum 6 months experience in licensed child care center required.

  • CDA or related college degree strongly preferred.

  • Must be KDHE teacher-qualified to work with toddlers or willing to obtain immediately.
