The School of Education in the College of Applied Studies at Wichita State University invites applications for an academic year, tenure-track Assistant Professor of Elementary/Special Education, with an anticipated start date in August 2024. We seek an expert in areas related to, but not limited to, intensive interventions to improve academic and behavioral outcomes for young children and students with disabilities (early childhood to grade 6); including intellectual disabilities, reading disabilities, math disabilities, emotional and/or behavior disabilities with demonstrated conceptual, methodological, and applied knowledge and skills to join an engaged and committed faculty at Kansass only R2 university.
As a faculty member in the School of Education, the successful candidate will teach undergraduate courses in Elementary Special Education, work with various populations of students, colleagues, and community, engage in research and grant seeking activities, and provide service to the program, department, college, university, and profession.
Minimum Education
A Ph.D. in Elementary Education (special education emphasis) or related field, completed by date of hire.
ABD is considered, with the condition that the degree is completed by the date of hire.
Minimum Experience
Successful experience working collaboratively with teachers and school district personnel.
Successful experience with diverse populations.
Successful experience in teaching individuals with disabilities.
