Airframe Engineer (Defense) - Production Support

Description

JOB SUMMARY:

Responsible for organizing and executing aircraft structural layouts, detailed designs, and Avionic Electrical Systems (AES) mechanical installations. This will include new product development studies, coordination with multiple technical stakeholders, and extensive use of all CATIA and ENOVIA platforms, including current and legacy Cessna and Beechcraft data. This role will also require planning for the management of engineering design data and delegation of design tasks to the Cessna India engineering team.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Incorporate design improvements utilizing CATIA software with an emphasis on modeling and drafting

  • 3D model development in support of detail, assembly and installation layouts

  • Communicate and coordinate with technical disciplines, such as Manufacturing, Tooling, Structural Integrity, Aerodynamics, and AES.

  • Peer drawing checking and the release of engineering documents, as well as day-to-day collaboration to resolve design conflicts and interferences.

  • Support prototype aircraft assembly, which includes coordination with engineering to support design interpretation and occasionally investigate and respond to problems in manufacturability

  • Conducts research, calculations, estimates and drafting of projects to conform with established specifications such as capacities, styling, performance and determine status of work in progress.Performs above work utilizing frequent application of in-depth engineering principles.

  • VII.Maintains contact with Product Support Engineering and production departments to resolve engineering problems impeding production and to assist in the incorporation of new design concepts and changes.

  • Participate in the development and improvement of processes.

Qualifications

EDUCATION/ EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelor’s Degree in:

  • Aerospace Engineering

  • Mechanical Engineering

  • Related technical field

  • Minimum of 2 years engineering experience or relative aviation technical experience.

QUALIFICATONS:

  • Professional and diplomatic demeanor

  • Strong sense of accountability and integrity

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Understanding of 2D & 3D design concepts

  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and CATIA

  • Previous work experience in a mechanical or manufacturing engineering setting is beneficial
