In your role, you will:
Perform a variety of clerical and accounting functions within area of Accounts Payable.
•Sort, file, and maintain accounts payable files and related documents, for example, inserting new or removing existing materials as needed and disposing of obsolete files in accordance with established procedures
•Respond to customer and vendor inquiries regarding account information via telephone, email, and/or fax
•Review & reconcile accounting information, for example, invoices, payment and check information into computerized databases and spreadsheets and validate to ensure accuracy
•Research and resolve accounting errors, for example, invoice errors, reconcile vendor statements, and cash application errors
•Coordinate with customers, vendors, and buyers to ensure timely payment of invoices and resolve payment issues as required by assigned area
•Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is mentioned in virtually any financial analyst job description; familiarity with data query/data management tools is extremely helpful
•Request current vendors to switch payment type from check to ACH and enroll in e-Invoicing for faster and more efficient processing
•Validate and obtain invoice to ensure suitable documentation approval and authorization
•Inspect invoices and obtain consent for such and identify any error or inconsistency in them
•Identify and drive process improvements, including the creation of standard and ad-hoc reports, tools, and Excel dashboard
As our ideal candidate,
•You have at least 8 years’ experience in Accounts Payable or related area
•You have an accounting or Finance degree -preferred
•You have working knowledge of general accounting principles
•You have interpersonal skills necessary to work effectively with internal customers including employees from other departments as well as external customers outside the company
•You have communication skills necessary to collect essential information, answer questions, and direct callers to appropriate personnel in a professional and courteous manner
•You have research skills necessary to follow-up on inquiries, for example, expense reports, purchase orders, invoices, and related documents to verify accuracy
•You are proficient with computer and 10-key skills necessary to operate word processing, spreadsheet, database, accounting, and web-based applications
