Flight begins with you at Spirit AeroSystems, a place where you can explore your interests and grow your career by working on impactful projects. We are looking for Engineering Interns to support our Material and Process Engineering group:
Analyze, research, design and develop materials and their related fabrication and application processes.
Develop and optimize materials for use in engineering design of and/or application in structures, systems and subsystems.
Apply principles of chemistry, physics, and material behavior to develop metallic, non-metallic and composite material and processing specifications, fabrication and assembly processes.
Develop, analyze and apply material properties and design allowables, processing methods and quality engineering specifications and standards.
Review and approve engineering drawings and documents for part conformance and to assist in resolving part failure analysis for fabrication, assembly and in service problems.
Applies knowledge of aerospace mechanical/structural component fabrication and assembly processes and technologies to establish research and development strategies and plans.
Develop and mature technology.
Facilitate technology implementation in production and provides support to the user community.

You must be enrolled full time in a university degree program aligned to the area of internship - Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Metallurgy, Metallurgical Engineering or Material Science.
You must be a current sophomore or junior student, or a senior planning to enter graduate school, in good standing with at least a 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale).
