This job was posted by https://www.kansasworks.com : For more information, please see: https://www.kansasworks.com/ada/r/jobs/10837010 job id - 3617_5000439123706Job DescriptionSummit Truck Bodies, a division of Transwest, is looking to fill a paint prep position at our manufacturing facility in Wathena Kansas.ESSENTIAL DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:Prepares work to be accomplished by studying work order, bill of materials and blueprintsResponsible for priming, sanding, masking and prepping bodies and parts before paintwork is started / completed.Responsible for inspecting work on an assortment of parts, as well as bodies prior to paint being applied.Documents actions by completing production and quality forms.Maintains a clean and safe work area, maintains and wears all required personal protective safety equipment.Participates in all continuous improvement programs by offering suggestions and exhibiting initiative in areas within direct controlOther duties as assigned by the managerWORK ENVIRONMENT & PHYSICAL ABILITIES:Requires prolonged standing, bending, stooping and stretchingRequires lifting up to 75 pounds frequentlyRequires exposure to various chemicals and solvents.Requires working in areas which are not ventilated or air-conditionedRequires eye-hand coordination sufficient to operate machinery such as a forkliftRequires full range of body motion including handling and lifting, manual and finger dexterityRequires working under stressful conditions or working irregular hoursRequires working in a fast paced environmentRequires a normal range of hearing and visionMust understand vague and implicit instructions, and react favorably in all work situationsMust be mentally adaptable and flexible in dealing with a variety of peopleMust be able to communicate providing verbal feedback in a professional mannerREQUIRED EDUCATION, EXPERIENCE, KNOWLEDGE & SKILLS:High school diploma or equivalentValid Driver's License with an MVR in good standingMust have basic knowledge and understanding of automotive paint process, prep work to be completed, as well as basic knowledge of a phosphate wash system.Ability to efficiently use various hand and power toolsKeen attention to detail is requiredAbility to work with multiple priorities and constant interruptionsBasic communication skills, both written and oralAbility to operate a forklift and overhead craneAbility to successfully pass a General Abilities Assessment and Post-offer background check, physical and drug screening.
