GENERAL
This role supports behavioral initiatives in Valley Center, Burrton, and Sedgwick school districts by coaching and guiding school
staff in evidence-based practices for positive behavior support. Responsibilities include coaching special education teachers,
assisting with instructional strategies, supporting individual educational plans, sharing classroom management best practices,
conducting inservice training, observing classrooms, implementing behavior strategies, and contributing to IEP goals and
behavior support plans.

QUALIFICATIONS
Masters degree in job-related area.
Licensure through KSDE or appropriate regulatory body.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office software, including Excel and district email.
Proficiency in Google Drive and Google tools.
Strong organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while maintaining confidentiality.
Must support district mission, goals and objectives.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
Assist staff in defining and measuring behavior, understanding reinforcement principles, identifying antecedents,
teaching new behavior, and implementing strategies for behavior reduction.
Support school teams in collecting and analyzing behavioral data to inform intervention decisions.
Assist in developing and modeling interventions, conducting functional behavioral assessments, and crafting behavior
support plans to create safe and effective learning environments using evidence-based strategies for challenging behaviors.
Develop individualized plans to support and coach school-based staff in implementing effective
classroom management, evidence-based behavior strategies, and behavior support plans.
Plan and conduct high-quality professional development sessions for school-based staff on effective
classroom management, evidence-based behavior strategies, and targeted interventions.
Assist teachers in various aspects of IEP processes, including writing, facilitating meetings, data
collection, assessments, progress monitoring, and developing behavior support plans.
Collaborate with teachers, coaches, administrators, etc., to support social/emotional/behavioral
development and enhance teacher capacity.
Establish positive coaching relationships to foster intellectual and professional growth among teachers.
Maintain up-to-date documentation, including logs, notes, rubrics, etc., for reference purposes.
Observe teachers to provide feedback for improvement in teacher growth and student outcomes.
Prepare written materials to document activities, provide references, and convey information.
Present information on various topics to communicate information and gather feedback.
Conduct research on topics such as best practices, policies, and education codes to provide
recommendations and address program requirements.
Respond to inquiries to resolve problems, provide information, and refer to appropriate personnel.
Perform other duties, as assigned, to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.
