Who You’ll Be Working With:

Evolent Health is looking for a Vice President for New Business development to join its Evolent Health Services (EHS) business, focused on creating new partnerships with the BCBS plans nationwide. This individual will focus exclusively on pursuing the 36 Blue Cross plans across the country, developing relationships, penetrating accounts, educating the plans on who Evolent and EHS is, and securing net-new business. The preferred candidate must have a deep understanding of the health care market in general and health plans in particular, extensive experience in selling complex multi-million dollars solutions into Blues plans, be very skilled in relationship-building and influencing others, and have a proven ability to communicate crisp and clear messages through oral presentations and written pieces. The individual filling this role will serve as a strategic leader within the EHS go-to-market team, reporting to the EHS SVP/Chief Sales Officer.

Primary Responsibilities

● Execute on the sales strategy of the organization and provide support in the development and evaluation of short and long-term sales objectives

● Leverage existing relationships to expand Evolent’s footprint into the Blues markets

● Direct responsibility for building and growing EHS’s Blues business - measured through the formation of highly-aligned strategic partnerships with long-term agreements

● Provide strategic, operational and product development leadership across the organization as a senior executive with direct market-facing responsibility for the Blues

Qualifications / Experience (Required)

● Bachelor’s Degree

● At least 7 years of professional sales experience with health plans

● Deep healthcare expertise, including experience with leading complex solution sales pursuits into risk-bearing organizations

● Extensive understanding and mastery of the sales process within Blues plans

● Ability to articulate Evolent Health’s product offering and deliver captivating message motivating appropriate Blues organizations to become Evolent partners

● Deep rooted relationships in the Blues space, ideally with a comprehensive and updated “rolodex”

● Tenacity to consistently exceed performance goals with a track record of success

● World class listening and communication skills

● Can-do attitude with the motivation to prospect, establish/develop relationships, and understand and work through all aspects of the sales cycle

Qualifications / Experience (Preferred)

● Graduate degree in health or a business-related discipline

● Experience building credibility and consensus within executive teams, internally and client-facing

● Committed to participating and contributing to a fun, supportive, high-performance culture

● Compelled to serve Evolent’s mission, clients, and fellow colleagues

Technical requirements:

Currently, Evolent employees work remotely across all 50 states temporarily due to COVID-19. As such, we require that all employees have the following technical capability at their home: High speed internet over 10 MBPS and, specifically for all call center employees, the ability to plug in directly to the home internet router. These at-home technical requirements are subject to change with any scheduled re-opening of our office locations.

The typical range of employees within the compensation grade of this position is . Salaries are determined by the skill set required for the position and commensurate with experience and may vary above and below the stated amounts.
