Vontier UX Designer/Researcher in Topeka, Kansas

WHAT YOU WILL DO

  • Design and implement strategies for conducting research to uncover customer problems and tests that validate hypotheses of potential solutions including customer interviews.

  • Lead research synthesis and translate observations into findings.

  • Help create customer user experience (UX) storyboards and other visual communications tools to help provide insight into ways to improve the user experience and explore scenarios visually. Through usage of the storyboard walk through the user journey and experience mapping so that we can uncover insights about the different scenarios customers may find themselves interacting with the product/design.

  • Effectively understand customer user personas, the problems we are trying to solve and potential products, solutions, and/or services which can resolve issues.

WHO YOU ARE

Must have

  • 5 or more years of experience in a similar role UX Designer, Customer Insights/Researcher/Developer

  • Bachelor's degree, ideal majors and/or coursework includes Human Computer Interaction, Antropology, Psychology, Behavioral Science, Cognitive Psychology, UX Design or similar area.

  • Experience with qualitative research methodologies (customer interviews), generative (participatory design, storyboard testing), and evaluative methods.

Nice to have

  • Familiarity with designing and executing customer and market research (personal interviews, focus groups, observational research) to gain customer insights and opportunities for breakthrough solutions.

  • Proven ability to work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

  • Effective dealing with ambiguity.
