The Technical Expert, FP&A Platforms is a key member of the product finance/IT team that is responsible for the development and execution of strategic initiatives and imperatives related to the financial planning and analysis workstream.
This role will service as the ‘go-to’ person for all Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) Platforms developers, product owners, business analysts, solution architects, system engineers, and other key stakeholder across and outside of Enterprise IT. The candidate will participate on multiple squads/workstreams/projects as appropriate. This role will also leverage the Scrum Agile Framework to continue to help our team transition to a Scrum approach to project management. Our Company largely uses SAP BPC (Business Planning and Consolidation) for FP&A activities.
The Technical Expert, FP&A Platforms is empowered and responsible for:
Understanding how various Finance teams use Business Planning and Consolidation (BPC).
Understanding the financial planning, forecast, budgeting, and management reporting processes within our Company.
Utilizing Agile/Scrum principles for BPC development.
Designing and implementing sophisticated solutions in BPC to solve ambiguous tasks.
Engage in “Front End” and “Back End” Development of BPC (i.e. input forms, reports, data transformations, BADI’s, script logic, security, dimensions, data manager packages).
Leverage expertise in BPC functionality, capabilities, and use cases.
Help developers and business users in “thinking through” test cases for complex systematic changes.
Employ deep knowledge of planning, forecasting, budgeting, and management reporting across multiple finance teams.
Create and enforce development and documentation standards across the squads.
Evaluate external resources, and train internal resources on BPC.
Appraise other technical capabilities & integrations across the FP&A Platform.
Participate in roadmapping sessions with SAP and other vendors.
Understand complex data integrations using Business Warehouse (BW) and other technologies.
Work with business users to ease pain points and solve complex problems/requirements.
Develop unique/creative solutions to meet various business requirements as needed.
Understand business activities involved in FP&A processes.
Education Minimum Requirements:
- Required: BA/BS or equivalent.
Required Experience and Skills:
Proficiency in MS Excel and other Office 365 tools.
10+ years’ experience with BPC and Financial Planning & Analysis processes and activities.
Strong prioritization, collaboration, and communication skills.
Preferred Experience and Skills:
Experience working in financial systems.
Experience working on Agile teams.
Visual Basic for Application (VBA).
