Ford Motor Company TE - Aluminum structures in Topeka, Kansas
Technical Expert (LL6) position leading technical design and development of Aluminum Structures in our Ford BEV and ICE propulstion systems.
Author and maintain Aluminum structural design engineering specifications
Author and maintain Structure Design rules and RQTs and associated health charts
Co-Lead technical peer reviews with component supervisor
Mentor structural D&R engineers across the various global regions
Create/maintain Generic FMA documentation
Support problem solving efforts and risk assessments for warranty, transmission plant, DV/PV issues
Conduct machining, assembly and test manufacturing process reviews and recommend best practices
Conduct benchmarking to optimize structural designs for future programs
Work with systems teams to drive SSDS updates as it pertains to structural components and cascade down to component level engineering specifications.
Provide Technical leadership to broader Underbody Systems engineering teams.
Continue to develop and leverage cae modelling capability to optimize quality, maximize efficiency and minimize cost
Create and Conduct training sessions
BS-Engineering required
- MS-Engineering preferred
- Extensive component engineering design & release experience in aluminum structures including specific experience with BEV, Hybrid and ICE housings
- Extensive experience creating and managing DFME/PFME/SCAFF/prints of complex castings
-Extensive knowledge and experience with CAE tools to analytically design complex castings.
- Extensive knowledge & experience with associated supplier manufacturing and quality casting processes, aluminum machining and assembly.
- Required leadership skills - quality focused as #1 priority, innovative, excellent communicator, strong organizational skills , highly motivated self starter
