Here. you'll work alongside passionate engineers engaged in the design and development of a product that is changing the world. As a Senior Software Engineer, you’ll implement features for Sunrun’s marketing platform, develop and maintain full-stack solutions for Sunrun’s custom applications, and develop on industry-leading SaaS platforms.
Work collaboratively with our business units to develop applications that can be tested easily and will perform well under a variety of conditions.
Champion adherence to best practice development methodologies.
Facilitate automated testing so all teams can innovate at a rapid pace.
Mentor and build skills across the team by setting effective standards, performing code reviews, and by knowledge-sharing with other engineers.
Make sure that new features don’t interfere or cause any negative impact in ongoing business processes, and handle any situation that might compromise our system stability.
Contribute to decisions on how our tech-driven, lean organization is going to evolve.
Help decide which tech stack will be used to implement any given feature.
Proactively look for new technologies or solutions that guarantee our stack stays competitive and up-to-date.
Help establish standards for the team in areas of technical excellence.
High level of creativity in designing and developing innovative solutions to challenging problems.
Ability to work in a cross-functional team, communicating directly with senior staff across sales, digital marketing, call center management,and other disciplines.
Capacity to understand business requirements stated at a very high level, and decompose them into smaller developer-ready tasks.
Methodical approach to problem solving, incorporating enough flexibility to react to change in an agile manner.
Ability to suggest improvements in business processes or different ways of achieving business goals.
Strong focus on the quality of the work performed and on avoiding inefficiencies.
Understanding of how to keep technical debt to reasonable levels.
Inclined to help others on the team, and willing to be a partner others can rely on to resolve tech-related issues.
5+ years of experience developing complex enterprise applications.
Experience with SaaS application design and implementation
Required Technical Skills
Java, Spring, JPA and Hibernate
JUnit and Mockito
Amazon Web Services (Elastic Beanstalk, RDS, Lambda, Elasticache, EC2, SAM)
Postgresql / SQL
CI / CD design and configuration

The starting salary for this opportunity ranges from $137,629.00 - $165,155.00. Other rewards may include annual bonus eligibility, which is based on company and individual performance, short and long term incentives, and program-specific awards. Sunrun provides a variety of benefits to employees, including health insurance coverage, an employee wellness program, life and disability insurance, a retirement savings plan, paid holidays and paid time off (PTO). A candidate’s salary history will not be used in compensation decisions.
