The Quality Assurance (QA) team is comprised of QA analysts and QA engineers involved in manual and automated testing of software applications across the entire UMB organization. They work with cross-functional teams to ensure the application will be functioning in peak performance once implemented and to prevent potential problems from becoming a major issue.

As a Sr. QA Analyst, you will lead large projects, and provide mentorship of the QA Functional team involved in validating our software against the functional requirements/specifications. You will also be involved in testing each function of the application by providing appropriate input and verifying the output against the functional requirements. The QA team is a collaborative, inquisitive group that shares ideas and develops standards and processes together. They share a commitment that an application not only meets company guidelines but will ensure the final product will be completed in a timely manner knowing delays can be costly for UMB. Trust and open communication with each other and the project team are important.

How you’ll spend your time:

  • Leading a group of testers and coordinating testing activities across different work groups that may be technical or business oriented.

  • Developing and performing manual testing (i.e. functional, regression, UAT) and running automated testing. This also includes data creation, mining, and manipulation of applications for conformance.

  • Determining test strategies and communicating plans and status to the project team.

  • Collaborating with project managers, other QA analysts, and developers to determine the scope of the testing effort and testing resource requirements that result in plans, schedules and implementation of small to large scale testing projects.

  • Configuring and managing QA test environment for software under test.

  • Leading the defect management effort, ensuring defects are logged and captured timely and accurately. Leading defect review meetings with development / vendor teams.

  • Mentoring and training less experienced QA analysts, including leading and delegating projects and project work to these QA analysts.

We’re excited to talk with you if:

  • You have at least 8 years of experience in QA and software application testing.

  • You have experience with developing test plans and creating test scripts including test coordination across multiple business units.

  • You have experience leading and mentoring other QA analysts.

  • You have defect management experience.

  • You have worked with various QA testing tools specifically QA Complete or Team Foundation Server (TFS).

  • You have financial industry experience. Although this is not required, it is highly preferred.

Open to qualified remote candidates.

The pay range for a candidate selected for this position who is based in Colorado is typically $72,870 to $135,450 annually.  The selected candidate’s actual pay will be based on various factors, including but not limited to work location, qualifications, and experience, so the actual starting pay for the selected candidate may be above or below this range.  The successful candidate will also be eligible to participate in one or more incentive plans based on company and individual performance.
