Acxiom LLC Sr. Product Manager in Topeka, Kansas

Acxiom is looking for a Senior Platform Product Manager to join our Product & Engineering Team. She or he will work with a high energy team to conceptualize, roadmap, and execute plans for an innovative group of products and services.

The Platform Product Manager role could be filled by a PM who wants to deepen their understanding of a complex marketing ecosystem, integrations, and strategic technology partnerships, or an engineer who wants to scale their contribution and influence beyond what they can code as an individual. We welcome candidates with some of these skills who have a drive to learn the rest.

  • What you will do:

  • Contribute to product strategy:

  • Driving product vision

  • Mapping business goals to product

  • Prioritizing product backlog

  • Maintaining awareness of competitors who are solving similar problems

  • Understanding the roles of both intuition and data in product success

  • Defining and tracking success metrics

  • Work with stakeholders to validate requirements, understand business priorities, challenge stakeholder assumptions, collaborate on expectations, and deliver on commitments

  • Communicate status, upcoming milestones, and needs to stakeholders inside and outside the team

  • Assist support teams with API client integrations and associated needs to ensure the best possible client experience

  • Coordinate with other Platform PMs to provide product direction for development teams around platform development:

  • Guide agile sprint activities, including grooming and planning sessions, that state clear business objectives

  • Write detailed epics and stories that state clear acceptance criteria

  • Understand the architecture of the product and act as its advocate

  • Understand the user/delivery side of the product to guide development leveraging the good and addressing the challenges

  • Gain a deep understanding of the technology to better relate to engineering points of view, understand when to push back, and assess the impact of requests

  • Set priorities and make tough decisions when you have too many requests and not enough resources

  • What you will need:

  • 5+ years of experience in product management or engineering with a team delivering products

  • Expertise in API application development or product management

  • Domain expertise in marketing, marketing data products or services, and/or other information-intensive product businesses

  • Prior exposure and understanding of the marketing ecosystem and tech stacks, specifically around APIs

  • Experience with MarTech data (consumer, response, application metadata) or with AdTech data (exposure, website, search, by channel, etc.). Additional data knowledge by industry verticals and understanding of the varied deployment channels is beneficial.

  • Understanding of back-end systems or authentication systems or front-end systems is a plus

  • Familiarity with Agile methodology coupled with Jira or similar issue tracking software

  • What will set you apart?

  • One or more of the following hard skills:

  • Expertise or significant experience with cloud application management, deployment, development - AWS, Azure, SFMC, Oracle Cloud, etc

  • Expertise in digital marketing solutions such as DMPs, DSPs, Web personalization solutions, Mobile Marketing solutions

  • Expertise in marketing platforms from companies such as Adobe, Oracle, Salesforce, IBM, etc

  • Expertise in marketing analytics or measurement

  • The following soft skills:

  • Strong verbal, written, and presentation abilities

  • Strong problem-solving skills

  • Strong communication & consensus building skills

  • Quickly assess a situation, make decisions based on limited information or disparate information, and own the outcome

  • Ability to negotiate (client requirements, contracts, different personality types, competing interests)

  • Resourcefulness

  • Natural curiosity for learning new things

  • Ambition and drive to understand the unknown

  • Ability to quickly pivot based on market, client, or company needs

  • Self directed and self motivated
