The Marriott Hotel Website Product team leads design, development, and innovation across the portfolio of 8,000+ venue-based digital experiences, in over 150 countries and across 30 highly recognized brands. We are seeking an experienced digital manager to lead the technical integrity of the global Hotel Website portfolio. Reporting to the Product Director of Hotel Websites, the Senior Product Manager for Hotel Websites will play a key role in maturing Marriott’s Hotel Website digital experience in support of advancing the Company’s goal of becoming the world’s favorite travel company.
In support of Marriott’s overall digital strategy, this role will partner with key regional stakeholders and leaders within product, operations, SEO, design and engineering to define and own the Hotel Website roadmap for technical optimization, globalization, and product performance for Marriott hotels that rely heavily on external data source systems and technical search engine optimization. This role will develop and execute a data and user-driven strategy for providing our customers the ideal discovery, search, and reservation experience with an optimized balance between content, branding, and personalization features. The SPM will co-manage a cross-functional agile product team to activate against each aspect of that roadmap and strategy.
The person in this role will be comfortable leading and managing communication across the broader organization for all aspects of the Technical Hotel Website roadmap that pertains to these capabilities and experiences including Enterprise SEO, Digital Operations, Engineering, Continent Partners, and Field Marketers. An ideal candidate will be a true data-driven digital manager who relentlessly pushes to understand customer needs, balance user value with business value, through improving operational scale, and continually partner and prioritize in a complex and fast-paced environment. They will be able to navigate both strategic and tactical business, design and engineering challenges seamlessly.
A successful candidate will bring a proven track record in managing digital development teams, by demonstrating successful delivery in an enterprise setting. Additionally, an ideal candidate will understand direct-to-consumer digital products, content management systems, technical and functional search engine optimization, personalization, a global growth mindset, a collaborative team spirit, and a passion for delivering amazing digital experiences that consumers love.
CANDIDATE PROFILE
Required Education and Experience
Successful candidates will meet the following minimum qualifications:
BS/BA in relevant field or equivalent work experience/certifications
5+ years digital experience with integrated web application environments
2+ years on an Agile development team
1+ years direct or indirect management of teams
1+ years of experience with JIRA ticketing software
1+ years in search engine optimization
Necessary Attributes and Preferred Skills
Agile Product Owner or Scum Master Training
Vendor Management experience
Experience with Adobe Experience Manager (AEM)
Effective written and oral communications skills, especially between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience with contemporary Search Engine Optimization and page performance best practices
Strong problem-solving skills; ability to identify, troubleshoot and resolve issues quickly
Ability to lead and work with cross-functional teams in support of specific business priorities
Strong ability to roll out process and increase adherence to processes
Experience in global/multilingual platforms and distribution channels
Experience working in a multi-brand ecosystem
Good relationship-building interpersonal and meeting facilitation skills required to lead and manage internal and external clients, vendors, and meetings.
