Ford Motor Company Software Development Engineer - Ford Pro Intelligence BEV (Remote) in Topeka, Kansas
We are looking for Lead Software Development Engineers that are passionate about software development and cloud-based architecture to support our Ford Pro Intelligence Battery Electric Vehicle team.
As a Lead Software Development Engineer on the Ford Pro Intelligence BEV team you will work on a balanced team and collaborate with Product Managers, Engineering Lead, and other engineers to deliver products to support the Commercial BEV program. Commercial BEV is a challenging initiative to provide BEV enablement for fleet customers requiring integration across multiple systems. This position will deliver value iterative software development in a fast-paced environment.

What you’ll be able to do:
Define, design, develop, and deploy services and applications in a micro service / cloud-based architecture.
Ensure functional and non-functional quality and on-time delivery using agile principles.
Embrace extreme programming practices including paired development, test driven development, and continuous delivery to release early and often.
Collaborate and work closely together with a balanced team of developers.
Minimum Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
5+ years Java development experience building micro service and cloud-based solutions using Spring Platform (Spring MVC, Spring Boot, Spring Cloud), OAuth, Swagger, etc.
3+ years’ experience with cloud environments (GCP, Azure, AWS, Pivotal Cloud Foundry or similar)
3+ years’ Web service delivery experience (using REST) for backend services Vue.js using Vuetify experience for front end user experience or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications :
Masters degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or related field or a combination of education and equivalent experience
Experience with TDD and Agile Methodologies.
Experience with software development tools (backlog management, source code management, automated and unit test management, CI/CD, etc)
Proven ability to work both individually and collaboratively
Strong communication skills and ability to think above and beyond baseline requirements.
