What you'll be doing:
A key aspect of Consulting at Tableau is nurturing customers to develop a culture of self-service analytics applying visualization standard methodologies. The Sr. Solution Architect- SWE is is a new and exciting role within the Tableau Global Professional Services Organization. This individual and team are assigned to specific accounts, for a defined period of time (typically measured in days and weeks), where the sales team sees significant upside potential for the customer/prospect to expand their value and footprint of Tableau. These customers need to see Tableau working for them, with their data, before making their buying decision. This role is different from a traditional Sales Engineer in that this function goes well beyond demos and sales support, and actually works on small projects for the customer to develop trust, show value, and educate them on the value of Tableau. This resource will work closely with the Sales team for the account, develop strong relationships with the customer, and be dedicated to driving quick wins using their deep product expertise and creativity to address business problems for the customer. It is expected that the candidate for this position will be highly experienced as a Consultant/Architect and proficient at end-to-end Solution Architecture and Customer Engagement. In this role, the candidate will be expected to spend more than 70% of their time either on-site or virtual with customers or working on customer-assigned work.
The Sr. Solution Architect - SWE helps kick off the overall Analytics transformation journey for strategic customers. They bring industry experience, strong Tableau skills, Visualization/UI/UX standard methodologies, and understands how to work with customers to identify unique personas, and drive answering the specific questions for those personas. The Sr. SA also is responsible for the frontend design and implementation for the assigned accounts, and handles the engagement to provide technical & analytical expertise, consulting on Visual Analytics and guiding on Business Intelligence standard methodologies.
Some of the things you'll be doing include…
Develop expertise in the features, benefits and application of Tableau’s products – Deep understanding of our Desktop/frontend product(s) and it’s integration into client solutions, connecting to client data and a solid understanding of our Server product(s) and Tableau On-Line
Providing time supervised Professional Services to Tableau Customers
Travel to customer locations to provide delivery of Services
Lead Discovery exercises at customer sites and contributing detailed analytics and visualization input to implementation plans
Lead and deliver professional services engagements for Tableau customers focused on Tableau’s Blueprint methodology.
Help customers define business needs, guide prioritized data creation efforts and data strategy to address critical business questions
Lead our customers in programs focused on improved data literacy and expanded use of sophisticated analytics capabilities to share key insights through concrete dashboards and make faster, more impactful business decisions
Conducting data reviews, product demonstrations and ad-hoc onsite customer workshops
Develop leading analytics solutions for customers to meet their most ambitious business needs
Communicating via phone, email, face-to-face and web meetings with customers assisting and guiding them through the proposal and implementation process
Creating Post-Engagement Summaries and documenting final solutions for customers
Assisting Professional Services Management and Sales with specific scoping or technical / mentorship in pre-sales discussions
Provide mentorship to other consultants
Who you are…
Data Influencer . Knowledgeable in databases, warehouses and BI/Visualization Solutions – i.e. Tableau, Qlik, Power BI, Cognos, Business Objects. Tableau Desktop and Tableau Server Experience recommended.
Consultant Minded. You strive to understand business value and business outcomes, and identify how to demonstrate data and technology to help meet those customers' needs.
Experienced. You have worked in the analytics and consulting industry for at least 10+ years.
Visualization Specialist. You have a love of creative visualizations that help customers see and understand their data.
