The Services & Solutions organization within OCCA is dedicated to making compliance management for OCI and its customers faster, simpler, and more accurate, ultimately delivering unparalleled value to our customers and to Oracle Cloud itself.

We are on the lookout for a Senior Member of Technical Staff to bolster our Compliance Document Service team. This role is integral to our mission, requiring a hands-on approach, meticulous attention to detail, and a commitment to driving cloud services to fruition without compromising on quality. You'll be tasked with navigating complex challenges, leveraging a comprehensive technical skill set to deliver solutions that resonate with our commitment to excellence.

Responsibilities

  • Design, develop, and sustain scalable and fault-tolerant software systems to meet evolving needs.

  • Provide crucial support for a key OCI Service, ensuring its reliability and operational efficiency.

  • Participate in the entire software development lifecycle, encompassing development, testing, continuous integration, and production operations.

  • Manage incident responses and perform detailed root cause analyses to prevent future occurrences.Share on-call duties with the team to guarantee continuous service availability.

  • Apply deep technical expertise to contribute significantly to large-scale projects, with a focus on delivering high-quality, efficient solutions.

  • Advocate for and implement coding best practices, outstanding design principles, and performance optimization strategies within the team.

  • Translate business requirements into detailed technical designs, ensuring alignment with project goals.

  • Drive innovation and service expansion using cloud-native principles, and lead the way in adopting new technological advancements.

  • Lead performance analysis and service capacity planning efforts, proactively addressing and anticipating future service demands.

  • Enhance service technical innovation and efficiency through the use of automation.

  • Stay at the forefront of technology by researching and evaluating alternative solutions to develop top-tier solutions.

  • Work towards expanding the service into new regions, broadening the reach and impact of our offerings.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business Administration, Data Science, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • 7 years of software engineering experience, particularly with distributed systems in large-scale environments.

  • Hands-on experience in building and managing services on public cloud platforms, including Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI), AWS, Google Cloud Platform (GCP), or Azure, as well as in utilizing cloud-native services.

  • Excellent verbal and written communication abilities, coupled with the skill to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams.

  • Proven experience in supporting and working alongside cross-functional teams within a dynamic work environment.Strong background in system architecture and design principles.

  • Deep knowledge of Java.

  • Solid experience with Continuous Integration/Continuous Deployment (CI/CD) processes.

  • Experience with Agile methodologies, including Scrum, demonstrating an understanding of agile project management principles.

  • Competence in Shell scripting, showcasing the ability to automate tasks and processes efficiently.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with JavaScript/ReactJS, along with expertise in Terraform, is highly valued.

  • A solid understanding of networking protocols and concepts.

  • Proficiency in setting up and managing cloud-based virtual networks, VPNs, and load balancers.

  • Practical knowledge of SQL.

  • Demonstrated skill in Shell scripting, emphasizing the importance of automation and efficient process management.

  • 2 years of experience using Jira, showcasing the ability to track and manage projects effectively.

  • 2 years working in compliance management or cloud security, indicating a strong background in these critical areas.

US: Hiring Range: from $74,800 to $178,200 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
