Overview of Job Function
Verint’s Senior Engineer, Data installs, configures, upgrades, administers, monitors, maintains and ensures the security of various data stores within the organization. With expertise in Cassandra administration, this role performs data store performance tuning and capacity planning.
Principal Duties and Essential Responsibilities
Install, configure, upgrade data stores and implement high availability solutions, including SQL and non-SQL databases, (i.e. Cassandra, Druid, Neo4j)
Evaluate data store new releases and its tools, and third-party products to
ensure our company is running the products that are most appropriate
Perform planning along with the application developers and system administrators to ensure that any new product usage or release upgrade takes place with minimal impact
Provides technical support to application development teams, assist with impact analysis of any changes made to the database objects
Own the physical data store design
Perform backup and recovery for various data stores
Provide 24x7 on-call support in rotation
Minimum Requirements
Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering or related field
5 years experience with various NoSQL/SQL - evaluation of new frameworks to deployment, maintenance, performance tuning and high availability solution
2 years experience in Cassandra administration in a production environment
Proficiency in one or more scripting languages including Python, Shell
3 years experience with Cloud computing (AWS)
2 years experience in data transfer, understand the various stages of the data store life cycle
Great communication skills with development teams, management, vendors, systems administrators and other related service providers
Successful completion of a background screening process including, but not limited to, employment verifications, criminal search, OFAC, SS Verification, as well as credit and drug screening, where applicable and in accordance with federal and local regulations
Preferred Requirements
Experience with database management in Apache Druid, Neo4j, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Exasol
Excellent experience working on database high availability and clustering environment
Understand bigdata pipeline life cycle
