JOB SUMMARY

The Sr. Director, Revenue Analytics plays an instrumental role in the development and execution of revenue analysis to help drive business and customer value for Marriott. The Sr. Director operates with considerable independence, developing strategies to deliver information and insights for action, while managing multiple competing priorities and stakeholders and being hands on developing projects. The Sr. Director will also play a key leadership role providing guidance and support to other associates on the team. The Sr. Director, Revenue Analytics ensures the analytical infrastructure and team deployment supports the most efficient and effective ways to reveal revenue opportunities and performance concerns across several revenue metrics including, but not limited to, market share performance, pricing effectiveness, booking pace by segment and tier, segmentation trends and implications. The position Recognizes recognizes when deeper analysis is warranted to determine the factors which impact performance and support forward strategy changes or enhancements.

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • 4-year degree from an accredited college or university preferred

  • Advanced degree in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, economics, business analytics, engineering etc. preferred OR

  • 8+ years of professional experience, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

  • Experience leading teams directly, and indirectly through projects required.

  • Demonstrated analytical ability with strong knowledge of data modeling and statistical analysis techniques, and ability to synthesize and analyze large volumes of complex information from multiple sources. is required.

  • Demonstrated ability to mine large data sets and synthesize insights and consolidate into stellar visualizations.

  • Experience presenting analysis and recommendations to senior level executives, with a demonstrated track record of generating insight through analysis and presenting the information in a manner which impacts key strategy or investment decisions.

Education and Experience Preferred

  • Advanced degree in operations research, applied mathematics, statistics, economics, business analytics, engineering etc.

  • Experience manipulating large data sets in Snowflake, SQL, Python, R, or SAS, and visualizing outputs in Tableau and/or PowerBI is a strong plus

  • Hands-on work experience developing and delivering projects in a consulting setting. is a strong plus.

  • Demonstrated ability to mine large data sets and synthesize insights and consolidate into stellar visualizations.

  • Previous experience balancing hands-on work while also leading a team.

  • Demonstrated ability to execute advanced analytic tasks (including but not limited to modeling, segmentation, forecasting, etc.) and create actionable analytical outputs.

  • Professional hands-on experience with statistical modeling, data mining, and advanced segmentation using large databases.

CORE WORK ACTIVITIES

Core Responsibilities

  • Align with Revenue and Distribution stakeholders’ top priorities, leading ongoing check points to ensure impact is maximized.

  • Provide leadership, advisory and consulting support on data needs and projects.

  • Produce performance updates for Senior Level Executives including but not limited to State of the Business, Board of Directors meetings, Quarterly Earnings Call, key Leadership Team meetings, etc.

  • Identify opportunities for custom analytics.

  • Develop advanced measurement models and capabilities, by leveraging best in class methodologies and lead internal and external teams across entire projects, including methodology, development, and implementation.

  • Translate business questions into analytic requirements, define approach and KPIs, execute analysis and ensure successful delivery of output.

  • Communicate and present results, insights, and recommendations to all levels of the company, clearly and concisely.

  • Work collaboratively with other analytics, data, research, and insight teams to generate enterprise-level insights and strategies.

  • Establish strong working relationships with key team members in Data Strategy, Topline Analytics, Advanced Data Science, Continent Analytics and Global Technology.

Leadership

  • Lead the team to deliver strategic analysis and reporting to drive business & customer value.

  • Translate high-level business problems into more specific questions which can then be answered by data-driven analysis and recommendations.

  • Develop innovative analytical methodologies to answer strategic questions in a timely fashion across the organization and empower others to apply your methodology to new problems.

  • Present data with a clear point of view so that insights can be used to help drive business strategy.

  • Identify, align on, and analyze meaningful KPIs to drive revenue performance.

  • Ensure all team outputs are high quality and credible for stakeholder consumption.

  • Deliver insight and provide guidance on revenue strategy based on historical performance.

  • Define benchmarks to provide stakeholders with the ability to monitor program performance in an actionable way.

  • Design and coordinate the maintenance of scorecards that measure both program and campaign-level effectiveness.

  • Develop and deliver compelling presentations that provide analytical recommendations and actionable insights to disseminate findings and successful practices to key stakeholders and senior management. Explain complex analytics to a broad audience with varying levels of technical background and understanding.

  • Perform complex analytics projects across broad set of stakeholders, clearly aligning on business and data needs, managing expectations, and delivering results in a timely manner.

  • Demonstrate flexibility for the continuously changing needs and priorities of the business.

Managing and Conducting Human Resources Activities

  • Interviews and hires employees.

  • Promotes adherence to policies consistently, follows disciplinary procedures and documents items according to Standard and Local Operating Procedures (SOPs and LSOPs) and supports the Peer Review Process.

  • Conducts annual performance appraisal with direct reports according to Standard Operating Procedures.

  • Champions change ensures brand and regional business initiatives are implemented and communicates follow-up actions to team as necessary.

  • Identifies talents of direct reports and their teams and assists with their growth and development plans.

California Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $123,975.00 to $275,021.00 annually.

Colorado Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $123,975.00 to $250,016.00 annually.

New York City & Westchester County, NY Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $150,011.00 to $275,021.00 annually.

Washington Applicants Only: The salary range for this position is $123,975.00 to $275,021.00 annually. In addition to the annual salary, the position will be eligible to receive an annual bonus and restricted stock units/stock grants. Employees will accrue 0.04616 PTO balance for every hour worked and eligible to receive minimum of 7 holidays annually.
