 JOB SUMMARY

The Senior Director, Product Strategy will manage and orchestrate the activation of Products in alignment with our Marriott strategic priorities. This role will coordinate closely with other focus disciplines including Revenue Management, Product Catalog, Order Orchestration and Payments, to develop policies & rules for the sales & servicing via Marriott channels. This position will also work with key Marriott stakeholders (Global Operations, Onsite Digital, Owner & Franchise Service, Consumer Experience, Commerce Partner Portal, Legal, Procurement, etc.) to manage the product strategy. In addition, this position will coordinate with and support Global Operations for on property processes. This role will also have responsibility for the following:

  • Develop a comprehensive Product strategy for products as part of Marriott’s strategic priorities

  • Oversee the collection of necessary content from the third-party providers

  • Oversee the development of new business processes as part of the Product Strategy

  • Manage the development, approval & governance process for Distribution and Revenue Management policies & rules (in coordination with the Revenue Strategy team for revenue related items)

  • Manage the communication of these policies for products

  • Develop ongoing reporting, monitoring, and management of the sales of products

  • Execute and re-evaluate the Product Strategy on an ongoing basis

CANDIDATE PROFILE

Education and Experience Required

  • 8+ years’ experience in the hospitality industry, demonstrating progressive career growth and a pattern of exceptional performance.

  • 4-year degree from an accredited university in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or related major.

  • Experience defining & managing product strategy as part of a transformational strategy for business units.

  • Demonstrated ability to deliver results under difficult conditions, particularly when faced with complexity and ambiguity.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop executive level presentations to enable socialization of new products, business processes and activation strategies including channel management.

  • Strong skills working with Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, Word, and other tools used for the development of product strategies and workflows.

  • Demonstrated ability to work well within all levels of the organization, especially internal senior management.

Education and Experience Preferred

Product Strategy and Activation

  • Develops a comprehensive Product Strategy for Marriott.

  • Works with internal stakeholders to understand and document key product requirements for brand-level and local market needs.

  • Develops an activation strategy working with Marketing, Communications, Brand, Owner & Franchise Services, Legal, Global Technology and Continent teams.

Collection of needed content from third-party product providers

  • Works with internal stakeholders to understand and document, where needed, the necessary content required

  • Identifies updates needed to existing processes based on new capabilities.

Defining new business processes and functional requirements

  • Works with stakeholders to understand the business and functional requirements of each product where new business process will be needed.

  • Collaborates with others to define new business processes.

  • Socializes, validates and revises proposed business processes and functional requirements with both direct stakeholders and impacted business disciplines.

Distribution and Revenue Management Policy Governance

  • Manages the development, approval & governance process for Distribution and Revenue Management policies & rules (in coordination with the Revenue Strategy team for revenue related items).

Reporting, monitoring, and management of products

  • Supports Marriott strategic priorities and on-going performance reporting once products are launched.

Supporting communication and stakeholder management

  • Leads/attends business review meetings as appropriate.

  • Develops updates for senior management (HQ and Continents) as needed.

  • Supports execution of strategic meetings between stakeholders and Marriott senior executives, as needed.

Change Management and Communications

  • Develops materials for communicating the Product Strategy to impacted user groups

  • Manages and implements work and projects as assigned and across teams.
