Job Summary

Senior Specialist position assigned to either a role in Project Contract, Line of Business, Cost/Planning Services, Regional Office Project Contract Lead or a combination.

In addition to performing duties as assigned, this position is primarily focused on seeking responsibility in the areas of providing support to Commercial Group management in terms of all commercial aspects including business deliverables, commercial reviews, decision making and impact, accountability, and financial measures (budgets, turnover, etc.); supports setting the deliverables schedule, and supports obtaining the necessary resources from other departments. Supports in developing commercial strategies for tenders and project contracts in its future business. Supports in developing and providing input into the strategic/operations plans, contract templates and training. Provides guidance to Analyst and Specialist professionals.

Lead role for some team members.

Key Responsibilities

Understands the B&V functional organizations and interfaces. Understands constructability concepts. Support duties may include the following:


  • Assists in monthly/quarterly reports.

  • Maintains Change Mgmt. Program.

  • Assists in improving project contract processes and systems.


  • Supports business services for major projects.

  • Supports Interfaces with Project teams and Directors to ensure project contract supports execution.

Regional Office/Group:

  • Supports division Project Contracts' process and systems development.

  • Assists in the coordination with the regional office management team members to achieve maximum value contribution.

Management Responsibilities

Acts in capacity of a "lead person." Does not have management responsibility for the people to whom they provide work direction.

Preferred Qualifications

A Law degree will be advantageous.

Understanding of Legal, Insurance, Finance, Tax and Treasury (LIFTT) issues. Drafting, reviewing, negotiating, and finalizing Technical Service Agreements, Confidentiality Agreements, MOUs, Teaming Agreements. Able to assess and apply LIFTT issues to facts to resolve project commercial isues.

  • Computer skills: Microsoft Office, Database Concepts and Scheduling Software if assigned to scheduling work.

  • Basic verbal, written communications and inter-personal skills: Good verbal and written communication skills for interaction with project teams.

  • Basic process execution:Understandtransformation of data to information – Ability to visualize how data can be transformed into information in the production of project controls reports for use by project teams.

  • Business systems maintenance: Understandingof how project contract issues relate to other company functions such as project accounting, procurement, QAQC, etc.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in any discipline.At least three to five years of relevant Commercial management experience in Home Office or Field Office.
