Job Description

This position is located in Topeka, KS

The Reporting Specialist will be responsible for the interpretation, analysis and reporting of vendor data to support the evaluation of service operations and customer service experience. The Reporting Specialist owns the data reporting process and will create and leverage advanced techniques to extract the analytic insights for operational, process, and service improvements. The Reporting Specialist develops data visualizations, including dashboards to share with leadership and stakeholders to guide business decisions. This individual will develop and improve metric reporting using robust reporting paradigms. Additionally, this role provides the timely and successful execution of management reporting deliverables. The Reporting Specialist continuously gains a deeper understanding of the operation’s data in order to meet business needs and transforms data into readable, goal-driven reports for improved strategies, continued innovation and growth, and process improvements.

Objectives of this Role

  • Create operational and ad-hoc reports and data extracts to support business processes and servicing.

  • Develop solutions to strategic business challenges through analytical techniques, including development of actionable insights for data driven decisions. This includes: improve operational efficiency, mitigating risks and analyzing trends.

  • Translate business requirements into specifications that will be used to implement the required reports and dashboards, created from potentially multiple data sources

  • Generate insights, trends and actionable recommendations, leading to implementation of initiatives and projects across the Customer Support Center.

  • Evaluate internal systems for efficiency, problems, and inaccuracies, developing and maintaining protocols for handling, processing, and cleaning data

  • Utilize various tools for data analysis and reporting as well as proprietary reporting tools integrated in business applications.

The work may be performed from home considering the economic and office impact of Covid-19 with going into the Topeka, KS office at times

Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers to understand and maintain focus on their analytical needs, including identifying critical metrics and KPIs, and deliver actionable insights to relevant decision-makers

  • Proactively analyze data to answer key questions from stakeholders or out of self-initiated curiosity with an eye for what drives business performance, investigating and communicating areas for improvement in efficiency and productivity

  • Create and maintain rich interactive visualizations through data interpretation and analysis integrating various reporting components from multiple data sources

  • Define and implement data acquisition and integration logic, selecting appropriate combination of methods and tools within defined technology stack to ensure optimal scalability and performance of the solution

  • Develop and maintain databases by acquiring data from primary and secondary sources, and build scripts that will make our data evaluation process more flexible or scalable across data sets

  • Understand requirements, gather data from various data sources, conduct business analysis, and provide quantitative insights through presentations, reports, and dashboards

  • Ability to analyze and interpret a mix of qualitative and quantitative data, construct compelling narratives, and provide recommendations on complex topics

  • Conduct analysis and turn insights into actionable changes for predictive models or policies

Skills and Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Mathematics, Computer Science, Economics, Statistics, or a closely allied field.

  • Three years in a reporting or business analyst role with experience working with metrics and data, reports, and providing analysis on datasets supporting a leadership team.

  • Experience presenting and explaining data or metrics to a nontechnical audience

  • Proven analytic skills, including mining, evaluation, analysis, and visualization

  • Demonstrated written and verbal communication skills are essential

  • Experience with evaluating, analyzing, and creating visualizations for large or disparate datasets.

  • Technical writing experience in relevant areas, including queries, reports, and presentations

  • Strong SQL or Advanced Excel skills with the ability to learn other analytic tools

Additional Preferred Qualifications

  • Prior experience with database and model design and segmentation techniques

  • Practical experience in statistical analysis through the use of statistical packages
