Oracle Senior Analyst, Risk Management in Topeka, Kansas

Job Description

Global Risk Management's Mission:

Come and join us! To ensure that all Oracle Consulting bids globally are developed and issued to a consistent level of quality, to an acceptable level of risk, and meet desired margin goals. To establish an Auditable System of Record.

To work closely with Divisional and Vertical Practices, and Global Service Lines, to promote consistent standards and practices for leading risk in the development of effective bids. To lead / or participate in selected project reviews that verify scope is being delivered per the contract documents and follows the Global Standard Operating Procedures.

Global Risk Management (GRM) reports to the Office of the CEO (Safra Catz).

Posting Description

Review selected North America Consulting (NAC) bids to ensure bids are written in compliance with NAC standards, and position NAC for profitable business with acceptable risk. Analyze the scope of work; the estimated effort; resolve whether the assumptions and pricing reconcile; make valuable contributions through feedback to bid manager in order to mitigate risks, and provide advice to the practice management team.

Lead / or participate in selected project reviews. Verify that scope is being delivered per the contract documents and follows the Global Standard Operating Procedures. Ensure that project risks are handled effectively and that delivery is on track to improve customer success and Oracle profitability. Participate in GRM internal projects as needed.

Additional Responsibilities: Coach Sales teams and Bid Managers on corporate policies regarding the bid process, tools, risk evaluation and mitigation; working with other organizations involved in the bid review and approval process; support the acquisition process by reviewing in-flight deals and training bid team members; participate in reviews of active projects; serve as an advisor on engagements subject to GRM review and; review selected project Monthly Status Reports. Some travel required (10%).

Desired skills/experience: Substantial project management delivery experience through the full project life cycle in applications, custom development or technical infrastructure/architecture (preferably for US clients), using True Cloud Methodology and/or legacy Oracle delivery methods. Experience with consulting proposal writing or review (in US English), or involvement in other consulting pre-sales activities. Hands-on delivery experience with one or more Oracle applications (Fusion and/or legacy). Experience with SaaS/Cloud services delivery. Preferred experience with the project review process, with the understanding that the work schedule requires flexibility. Excellent English written and verbal communication skills are vital. Multi-tasking is also a required skill.

Detailed Description

  • Review selected North America Consulting (NAC) bids to ensure they are written in compliance with NAC standards, and position NAC for profitable business with acceptable risk. Ensure scope of work, work estimates, assumptions and pricing reconcile; contribute through feedback to bid manager to mitigate risks; advise practice management of final “recommended for approval” or “not recommended for approval” disposition of bid to be presented to client.

  • Mentor Sales teams and Bid Managers on corporate polices, the bid process, tools, risk evaluation and mitigation, and working with other organizations involved in the bid review and approval process.

  • Assist field with development of estimates and estimation tools.

  • Support acquisition of new companies by reviewing in-flight deals and training bid team members as requested.

  • Lead GRM project reviews to provide required information, analysis, and recommendations around components of project delivery. Participate in PMO-led project reviews as appropriate/agreed.

  • Review selected Monthly Status Reports to rate selected project status and comment as appropriate.

  • Participate in internal GRM projects and/or Consulting infrastructure projects, as needed.

  • Ensure that accurate bid information is entered in Risk Management’s Consulting Bid Review System.

Job Requirements

  • Project management implementation/delivery experience through the full project life cycle in applications, custom development or technical infrastructure/architecture (preferably for US clients).

  • Consulting proposal writing or review (in US English), or involvement in other consulting pre-sales activities.

  • Experience with the project review process is desirable but not required

  • Excellent US English verbal and written communication skills

  • PMP certification is helpful but not required

  • High quality soft skills, a strong personality (including the ability to say “no”)

  • Flexible working schedule, able to multi-task

  • Some travel may be vital, primarily for project reviews

Delivery experience in one or more of:

  1. Applications implementation for any of the Oracle-owned applications (Fusion ERP/HCM/etc, Oracle eBusiness Suite, PeopleSoft, Siebel);

  2. Business areas including Financial, Human Resources, Supply Chain, Projects, Manufacturing, Retail, Technology; and

  3. Business Intelligence; Hands-on experience with the Oracle project management method (PJM) and at least one Oracle delivery method (such as OUM, or True Cloud Method (TCM)); Exposure to SaaS services delivery.
