Essential Functions:An individual must be able to successfully perform the essential functions of this position with or without a reasonable accommodation. Maintain a safe work area by checking the integrity of trailers/pallets (e.g., leaks, pest infestation, trailer damage); organizing work area by stacking empty pallets and/or breaking down cartons; and moving empty pallets using a pallet jack or power equipment. Process facility orders by pulling and labeling merchandise; stacking onto pallets, carts or conveyor; transporting using power equipment and/or pallet jack; and maintaining flow of freight on conveyor system (e.g., clear jams). Manage freight deliveries by processing, identifying, counting, separating and scanning freight; tracking and identifying freight manually or with computer software; unloading freight from trailer manually or with power equipment; inspecting freight for damage and misplacement (e.g., "strays"); cutting open boxes/cases using a box cutter and/or placing cases onto pallets, and maintaining records, logs and forms. Processes distribution exception freight, including strays and damages, by verifying bills, manifest, and purchase orders; moving freight with powered equipment; and preparing, reviewing, and analyzing reports (e.g., exceptions report, overage report). Maintain and ensure label or freight quality by inspecting and verifying freight label information (e.g., vendor stock number, description on labels, correct item pack and quantity); comparing label to freight contents or reports (e.g., label control); inspecting freight for damage and misplacement; placing labels in appropriate area on freight; and maintaining records, logs, and forms. Provide basic maintenance to receiving equipment (e.g., cleaning, sweeping empty trailers, changing labels and ribbons), and depal machinery (e.g., cleaning, changing labels and ribbons). Complies with company policies, procedures, and standards of ethics and integrity by implementing related action plans; using the Open Door Policy; and applying these in executing business processes and practices. Completes work assignments and priorities by using policies, data, and resources; collaborating with managers, co-workers, customers, and other business partners; identifying priorities, deadlines, and expectations; carrying out tasks; communicating progress and information; determining and recommending ways to address improvement opportunities; and adapting to and learning from change, difficulties, and feedback.
