Rebate Specialist III

Overview of Position Prepare and submit claims to third-party payers to ensure timely payment. Evaluate payments for accuracy and post them to applicable accounts. Perform various other duties related to billing, such as producing statements, maintaining records, and documenting actions taken to resolve balances on claims. May follow-up on pending and denied claims in the absence of a dedicated resource within organization

What will be my duties and responsibilities in this job?

  • The Rebate Specialist 3 works independently under general supervision and relies on instructions and pre-established guidelines to perform the functions of the job.

  • They are responsible for managing some of the more complex manufacturer accounts like CSL BEHRING and Genentech

  • They perform account reviews on assigned caseload, conduct manufacturer correspondence using established standard responses, and perform advanced system testing as needed

  • They lead particular programs for the quarterly invoicing conducting QA, and mailing the invoices to drug manufacturers

  • They assist with HCPCS/ NDC edit derivation & POS edit creation which requires an in depth understanding of the Unit of Measure (UOM) differences between Medispan and CMS, as well as the ability to calculate conversion factors based off a HCPC description and CMS unit of measure

  • Assist with Training of new staff when needed

What are the requirements needed for this position?

  • Three years’ experience in rebate or a retail pharmacy, physician office or hospital setting

  • High school diploma or GED required

  • 2+ years’ experience eREBS system and systems testing knowledge

What other skills/experience would be helpful to have?

  • Understand pharmacy billing and medical claims billing knowledge

  • Basic understanding of Medicaid rebate

  • Some College preferred

  • Excellent customer service

  • Detail oriented

  • Self-motivated

What are the working conditions and physical requirements of this job?

  • Physical requirements: Sitting, standing, walking, and using keyboard

  • All remote locations must have access to high-speed internet

How much should I expect to travel?

  • Minimum to none
