Job Description
The Java Platform Group (JPG) is the primary organization for driving Java innovation forward. With Java’s 30 th birthday approaching in 2025, JPG continues to advance Java, carrying the world’s most advanced and popular programming platform forward to power modern workloads in cloud and AI.
As part of JPG, the Java developer relations team drives critical programs, communications, and channels to help increase the aperture of Java across the world developers live and operate in. They are also responsible for building, growing and nurturing durable relationships with the Java ecosystem to help drive greater Java awareness and adoption across the technology industry, from students all the way through to professional developers, as well as increasing participation in Java community programs.
About the role
You will play a key role by helping manage the multiple outreach programs to connect and communicate with developers of all kinds in authentic ways. The person filling this role will be dedicated to delivering consistent and compliant high visibility programs, and operationally managing them for success.
As a member of the Java developer relations team this role works closely with a range of cross-organizational stakeholders such as the Java product management team, Java marketing, Oracle press & analyst relations, Oracle events and other internal teams to optimize the efficiency, effectiveness, and alignment of Java developer outreach activities, channels and programs across the company.

You are a thoughtful, inclusive communicator with substantial and proven program management experience. You obtain a committed focus, capable of solving communication challenges, developing original solutions and maintaining Java’s uniqueness, importance, and consistency across the multiple Java and Oracle programs used to engage developer communities. Skills & Qualifications
5+ years of proven experience in project/program management of highly visible audience outreach programs.
Diligent and meticulous, able to uphold the quality standards of the Java Developer Relations Team.
Effective at time management, able to prioritize and manage multiple projects successfully under tight or changing timelines.
Strong organizational and interpersonal skills; comfortable communicating with different teams distributed globally.
Expertise in managing projects across different time zones.
Experience with building timelines, establishing milestone checks, and summarizing project completion.
Team oriented and inclusive; and ability to stay composed under stressful situations.
A professional personality that can help further elevate the culture in JPG focused on a team-first attitude and ethos.
This is a non-technical role, but an understanding of developer programs is valuable.
This position can be located anywhere in the United States or Canada and may require some domestic and international travel (less than 20% of time).

Responsibilities
Manage the operations of key Java outreach programs that meet quality goals and compliance requirements.
Collaborate with internal teams to ensure all Java outreach programs follow brand and company standards and are consistent over time and across programs.
Contribute to the management of both in-person and online events with activity and production owners, helping to build and deliver live and recorded content that clearly express Java value propositions, resonate globally with developers, and increase awareness for key Java focus areas.
Assist in operational initiatives tied to online content consumption and engagement, as well as programmatic needs for Java educational activities.

US: Hiring Range in USD from: $92,900 to $199,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.
Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.
Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. Accrued Vacation is provided to all other employees eligible for vacation benefits. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
