Oracle Principal Software Developer (Full Stack / Frontend 60%) in Topeka, Kansas

Job Description

Define, design, and build major functions of the next generation Oracle Support Engineering products with production quality. The ecosystem is a distributed heterogeneous environment with performance, availability, data movement, and scalability requirements.

The ideal candidate must have passion for solving complex and interesting problems in the area of distributed computing, transaction processing, and scalable system design. Our success requires us to significantly improve the efficiency of the Support Organization for Oracle products. We are seeking software engineers who can handle the challenges and opportunities of developing software that operates at scale and load while expanding its functionality to further the lead that Oracle Support Organization has on customer success.

Qualifications:

• BS/MS/PhD in computer science or other relevant technical degree

• Experience in application development using server-side Java in context of relational databases

• Excellent object oriented programming, unit testing, debugging and code organization skills

• Working experience with JavaScript, TypeScript, CSS, AJAX and UI technologies in general.

• Adept at leveraging the right data structures and algorithms

• Good oral and written communication skills

• Extensive experience with Java’s threading model, the executor framework and locking patterns for highly concurrent programs

• Demonstrate analytic and problem-solving skills, particularly as it relates to application design, development and infrastructure

• Ability to quickly learn and develop expertise in complex existing applications and architectures

• Good exposure to design patterns

• Experience with Microservices design and development.

• Experience working in a DevSecOps ecosystem.

• Have a great attitude and is a team player

• OCI or cloud development expertise

• Willing to be on-call on a rotational basis

• Redwood, JET, Oracle ADF, Visual Builder, experience highly desired

• Exposure to AI, Generative AI, and LLM desired

Responsibilities

• Design and implement new features and enhancements with production-level quality

• Work with architects to design features and participate in design decisions

• Work with the entire organization to deliver high quality product code on time

• Acquire knowledge of existing code and refactor code as needed to meet the needs of the evolving ecosystem

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the stated locations only

US: Hiring Range: from $94,200 to $223,500 per annum. May be eligible for bonus and equity.

Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle’s differing products, industries and lines of business.

Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

  8. Paid time off: Flexible Vacation is provided to all eligible employees assigned to a salaried (non-overtime eligible) position. For employees working at least 35 hours per week, the vacation accrual rate is 13 days annually for the first three years of employment and 18 days annually for subsequent years of employment. Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.
