Overview
Under general direction, the Principle Product Manager partners with Product leaders, product owners, and Engineering to provide a clear product vision and strategy for delivery. The Principe Product Manager is a key product leader who effectively integrates, motivates and builds relationships with and between product team members, customers, key stakeholders, executives, and other individuals or organizations involved with the end-to-end product life cycle. Through ongoing market analysis, competitive analysis, customer interaction and collaboration with engineering/development, business and financial stakeholders, the principle product manager defines product strategy and goals to meet strategic goals, set priorities, guide and support development and operational activities, and provide direction and oversight to product teams. The principle product manager will have a strategic and broad scope of responsibility across key start up product(s) or solution areas as assigned. This individual communicates effectively with management, peers, customers, analysts and the leadership team regarding status of product initiatives, market trends, and product release status.

Responsibilities
Creates a close working relationship with the Product Owner to make appropriate decisions relating to product development by providing clear guidance and setting “guardrails” to operate within
Establishes product roadmaps and release plans that satisfy requirements and achieve customer outcomes
Leads customer advisors in product portfolio committees by demonstrating the ‘Voice of the Customer’ internally
Solves and validates potential solutions with customers and the market by discovering key pain points and problems worth solving
Develops a deep understanding of business goals and processes to inform product priorities and enhancement recommendations
Develops business cases to meet strategic initiatives and define Epics from which Product Owners can develop release plans
Translates desired business outcomes into actionable product and technical requirements in partnership with engineering resources and technology advisors
Maintains and prioritizes epic-level roadmap to support multiple product delivery teams in the release lifecycle
Manages product investment decision making and the overall financial performance of the product, taking a return-on-investment approach to increase the value while balancing product costs
Communicates with product stakeholders to surface, balance and prioritize feedback from multiple groups such as sales, marketing, customer support, customer experience (CX) and user experience (UX) leaders, as well as customers and the market
Communicates the product strategy, and ensures a common understanding among internal and external stakeholders
Maintain a groomed backlog of innovation and investment ideas
Qualifications
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
Ability to facilitate difficult discussions and prioritize competing interests by managing both strategic and tactical interests
Ability to work effectively and influence cross-functional teams without formal authority leading to positive outcomes and goals
Ability to surface, prioritize and balance multiple stakeholder priorities
Ability to define and launch products
Skill in problem-solving and analytical thinking
Ability to deal with uncertainty
Skill in oral and written communication
Skill in presenting to clients and representing the organization in the market
Ability to build strong relationships and collaborate across diverse and matrixed stakeholders and customers
Experience:
10 years of experience as product owner, product manager or similar role
3 - 5 years of experience working in healthcare IT or software
Depth of experience across product management skills with a track record of delivering successful products to market
Practical experience or technical background with expertise and experience in SAFe/Agile/Waterfall development methods
Experience developing and managing product roadmaps, goals and themes, for more one or more products in a product portfolio
Proven experience with design thinking principles and customer/user experience centered design frameworks
Experience with researching and understanding both market and customer needs
Experience leveraging data to inform decision making and assist in solving engineering problems
Required Training, Certification and Education:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A.) product design, engineering, business or related degree; or equivalent work experience
