Vontier Principal Computer Vision Engineer in Topeka, Kansas

We are looking for a creative and experienced Senior Computer Vision Scientist/Architect to join our fast-growing team at a start-up venture within Vontier Corporation, Juxta. You will be responsible for developing and leading an innovative retail platform at Juxta. We seek dynamic thinkers who face complex problems with excitement and a unique approach. You will join a fast-paced environment and work with cross-functional team members to design, build, and roll-out our platform.

Qualified candidates will be highly analytical and have hands-on experience deploying software in an integrated environment and enabling SaaS based technologies preferably in the retail industry.


  • As the Computer Vision Scientist/Architect you will be responsible for all our image recognition roadmap and projects, creation of algorithms for recognition, tracking and calibration using both classical and deep learning approaches.

  • Responsible for the Computer Vision (CV) roadmap and execution.

  • Build the methodologies for all aspects of validation and KPI measurements for our Computer Vision (CV) solution in different environmental conditions

  • Creation and structure of the infrastructure needed to implement our CV roadmap – integrated environment, requirement definition for tools and data bases.

  • Work with our development team to create an end-to-end solution with well define hand over.

  • Work closely with diverse departments including Business, Marketing, and Operations to drive the product forward

  • Define and analyze metrics that inform the success of our solutions


  • MSc (PhD – advantage) in relevant domain (SW Engineering / Computer Science / EE)

  • 10+ years of experience in Computer Vision Algorithms Engineering

  • 7+ years of experience in leading computer vision algorithm researches

  • 5+ years of experience as a Full Stack Developer

  • Good understanding in optimization and real-time consideration when it comes to implementation.

  • Experience in development of both classical and deep learning algorithms in Computer Vision.

  • Proactive, highly motivated, and a team player who takes full ownership of projects

  • Ability to travel within the US or internationally periodically as training or customer needs require

  • Ability to work a flexible schedule in a high demand environment

  • Experience with system design and scalable architecture.

  • Experience with Cloud platforms (SnowFlake/GCP/AWS/Azure)

  • Experience with SaaS technologies such as microservices, docker/containers, and Kubernetes and proficiency with Python

  • Knowledge with continuous delivery and deployment

  • Highly technical and analytical with the ability to engage customers, 3rd party integrators, and internal team members in an effective and supportive manner

  • Advanced troubleshooting and problem-solving skills utilizing science and engineering education to arrive at practical solutions

Nice to Have:

  • Experience with Lidar data

  • Experience with AI-driven store automation technology

  • Familiarity with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform), Ansible deployment automation

  • Previous experience with Retail solutions
