Job Description:
Become part of the next wave of cloud solutions by joining the Hi-Tech, Media and
Communications Cloud Architects Group. The mission of the Enterprise Cloud Architects
Group is to partner with our Sales Leaders in the Hi-Tech, Communications and Media as
well as our Managed Service Provider lines of business to identify, target and swarm our
largest, most complex business opportunities. Once engaged, the Enterprise Cloud
Architects will help define the deal strategy, point-of-view assessment and messaging,
internal coordination and aligning the “One Oracle” motion to maximize the value to Oracle
and the customer/partner. Additionally, the Enterprise Cloud Architect will provide executive
alignment across Go-To-Market, Technical and Art-of-the-Possible execution including Proof-
of-Concept collaboration if required to secure the deal. This role requires broad business and
IT experience and the ability to understand organizational strategies and then align how
Oracle’s strategies and capabilities can be leveraged to enable “needle-moving” results for
both companies. These complex opportunities will often require the Enterprise Cloud
Architect to manage several individual work streams that when combined make up an
overall deal potentially across multiple lines of business at Oracle to be successful.
Background:
Enterprise Cloud Architects in the Oracle Hi-Tech, Communications and Media group have
proven track records in the exploration and then creation of market disruptive joint business
models that deliver extraordinary results for the companies in the deal. They are very
skilled and experienced in large complex deal pursuits, large scale implementation and
operationalization of business systems, complex negotiation as well as, solid leadership and
communication skills with C-Level counterparts. In addition to these broad and deep deal
skillsets, each individual Enterprise Cloud Architect has deep knowledge in specific
technology areas and/or industry expertise to bring to bear for the team. Specializations in
technology areas such as Data Platform and AI, Analytics, Integration and Security.
This role also requires that you have knowledge and experience providing executive-level
financial and business guidance and will include a range of deliverables centered around
modeling financial structures, GTM revenue projections, competitive analysis & positioning,
profitability, negotiation, and strategic investment helping to inspire confidence in
customers and partners. The Enterprise Cloud Architect should be a highly motivated, well-
rounded business and strategy professional who also brings a strong working understanding
of cloud transformation, cloud-native, micro-services/ container frameworks, application
architecture, DevOps, and public and hybrid-cloud who understands at an expert level the
business and financial impact of technical change, modernization, and operational
transformation. Must bring a diverse mix of commercial, financial, go-to-market, investment,
and technical depth coupled with a strong executive business acumen and exceptional
customer / partner-facing presentation skills to build trust-based relationships across the C-
Suite.
What You'll Do
Leveraging the Oracle Enterprise Cloud Adoption Lifecycle (ECAL) Process, in the Define Phase we IDEATE, Analyze, Filter and then Target Strategic Partners/Customers to execute a strategic deal with Oracle's ISV Ecosystem
Working with the Partner/Customer to develop a Point of View on a partnership mission that defines the platform(s)/deployment models, the time-phasing of products, the packaging and use cases as well as Routes to Market, Customer Acquisition, Sales enablement, Sizing, revenue forecasting and business case. Combining those together with Integration and/or co-innovation opps and mutual investments to be presented as a means to determine and VALIDATE a go-no go decision to pursue a deal
Ensure that the above has been captured in a joint engagement PLAN and that all roles are staffed with experienced resources
In the Design Phase, we ensure that cloud engineering has all of the required CURRENT STATE Artifacts have been garnered from partner/customer. Further ensure that each of the artifacts are adequate to complete our work
Ensure that all of the artifacts are being generated by cloud engineering in a timely manner and that they are camera ready for the partner to review in order to freeze the design of all of the technical aspects of the FUTURE STATE architecture.
Ensure that all of the artifacts are being generated in a timely manner and that they are camera ready for the partner to review in order to gain approval and CONFIRM that that the Business Case and Solution Proposal meet all of the commercial aspectsrequired.
In the Delivery Phase, ensure that the proper transition from the Deal Team to Cloud Lift Services Team has occurred such that the partner can ADOPT the solution.
Leveraging the Operationalization of OCI Framework, ensure that the CLS team is on schedule and raise up any blockers to the appropriate audience whether that be through a Product escalation, an SR or any other impedance. Ensure that the solution is operationalized properly with the appropriate governance model in place for both technical aspects as well as the GTM aspects so that the joint solution can OPERATE.
Celebrate, IMPROVE, Rinse and Repeat
Be a critical thought-leader who works as part of a matrixed pursuit team on large, strategic cloud opportunities targeting press-worthy, market moving partnerships on OCI
Work closely with the Sales Team, Cloud Engineering and other members of the team, establish technical credibility in the sales cycle and peer with CIO’s, CTO’s, Chief Product, Chief Architect, and senior development leaders to drive strategic exploration, innovation, and partnership alignments.
Work with Business Architect function to model business arrangements from a capabilities and financial perspective
Serve as the Hi-Tech, Communications and Media group’s technical voice with targeted/ select customers and prospects and partner with pursuit leaders to establish credibility and trust in Oracle’s capabilities as a platform partner
Assist Hi-Tech, Communications and Media group’s with defining the technical strategy, methods, and tools that will enable them to deliver their solution offerings or build new on OCI
Validate customer/ partner architectures, joint execution plans, deliverables and successfully oversee technical engagements and, in certain circumstances, be the senior technical and business leader accountable to an elevated on-boarding and delivery experience to highly strategic partners
Develop repeatable strategies (and relationships) to enable the collection and successful onboarding of key strategic deals and partnerships across the full ISV and Oracle ecosystem

Ability to work with partner and Oracle engineering resources to discern the level of effort (investment) required from both sides in order to be able to calculate return and time to market. This activity is followed by laying out and understanding the engineering efforts (roles, skills and duration) required by the partner in order to align where our CLS engineering services can assist in the migration project.
Ability to work with partner and Oracle GTM resources to discern the market value potential of specific service offering(s).
Ability to gather and analyze partner's CS artifacts in order to oversee the development of a FS Architecture, BOM, Operational RACI, Business Case & Solution Proposal
Ability to oversee the development of the CLS Discovery Doc(s), Inbound/Outbound Product agreements
Ability to oversee the development of the FS GTM and Channel Plan, the CLS Work Plan and the Final Term Sheet and Ordering Documents required to execute the deal.
Ability to understand what is required in the Operationalization of OCI Framework to ensure that the proper steps have been followed in order to ensure that the solution is properly configured in OCI.
Ability to monitor, flag and raise up issues and get them addressed quickly and efficiently utilizing influence skill sets in order to accomplish what is required for the business.
Ability to learn lessons and improve processes as well as the curation and constant update of better and better artifacts for reuse.
10 – 15 years of both hands-on and business and technical leadership experience designing and building enterprise software or distributed IT systems (customer-side or service provider)
Deep technical knowledge cloud-native technologies and platforms with experience building new or migrating monolithic platforms to modern architectures
Extensive knowledge and experience with DevOps, SecOps, SRE, CI/CD, and related software development and IT operations practices
Experience working as a supply-side technical architect helping customers and/or partners through their technology journey
Strong knowledge of the “data” ecosystem and the technologies, platforms, challenges, and design principles to be successful across the innovation equilibrium
Technical knowledge of specific industry applications, platforms, and the data ecosystem
Wide knowledge of IT market and trends
Knowledge of full Oracle stack (SaaS and on-premise Apps running on OCI)
Specific knowledge of Oracle industry solutions is an advantage
Knowledge of architecture frameworks like e.g. TOGAF, IAF, DYA and Oracle’s ECAL.
Detailed knowledge of architectural approaches including consolidation, cloud computing, virtualization, disaster recovery, application rationalization, information management, big data, java applications, Oracle and non-Oracle applications.
Ability to craft and articulate strategic solutions. In-depth knowledge of implementation methodologies and best practices
Significant C-level presentation experience
Must be a technologist and thought-leader with a very deep understanding of the Oracle technology and applications ecosystem AND a direct competitor platform (AWS, GCP, Azure, etc.)
Experience working within a matrixed, inter-departmental team consisting of senior leadership, field sales, business development, cloud engineering, and product development
Very strong oral and written communication skills and creative mind to distill sophisticated technical topics into quantifiable business value
Highly influential communicator who can authoritatively present demo’s, build and communicate design options, assist in technical responses, and serve as the subject matter specialist in discovery meetings, visioning sessions, and lead technical deep dives in partnership with Cloud Engineering shared-services
Experience in a “sell-to” model is highly desirable
Brings outstandingly strong business and commercial acuity to assist in commercial, business, and technical negotiation risk/ reward
Ability to travel within North America for client meetings as needed

Range and benefit information provided in this posting are specific to the United States only
Hiring Range: from $107,000 to $185,200 per annum. May be eligible for equity. Eligible for commission with an estimated pay mix of 70/30.
