What you’ll be able to do:
The Product Development Engineer - Fluids and Materials, will be responsible for the design and release engineering role for internal / externally mounted power unit components. Components are in the following categories: Thermoplastic/Stamped/Elastomeric/NVH Abatement/Static Sealing.
Create product design working with designers, suppliers - geometry, attachment/assembly methodology, materials, etc.
Create the FMA documents leading to robust design creation
Work with Systems/Component engineers to manage interfaces/interactions
Work with Purchasing to identify the sourcing strategy/potential suppliers via leadership of the Team of Four meeting
Lead regular component program team meetings (CPMT) including the supplier/purchasing/STA to develop the design timeline supporting program milestones, launch, and field performance (warranty)
The minimum requirements we seek:
BS in Mechanical Engineering or Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Minimum 1 year of experience in design and release experience of parts/components
Our preferred requirements:
Prior experience in the creation of DFMEAs and Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&Rs)
Experience with Team Center (Internal/External) and FEDE (Internal candidates only - external to be trained)
WERS (Internal only / external to be trained)
Demonstrated team work skills - leadership of a working level team desired
MS Office proficiency
