The Professional Outbound Sales Representative is responsible for direct telephone sales, servicing a flexible account base of Veterinary clinics and/or pet stores and delivering results against Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) which include volume, net sales, new item distribution and endorsements. This role will require flexibility to meet the changing customer focus based on coverage needs.
Let's talk about Responsibilities:
Coordinate with RSD to partner with TM and DM for open territory coverage via phone, implementation of sales plans, special promotional campaigns, campaign results and overall sales results. Relentlessly replace competitive diets through consultative sales approach, product education and promotions
Conduct initial and follow-up telephone calls building a relationship, increasing customer loyalty and product distribution while maintaining the established customer call frequency schedules
Learn and retain nutrition and sales principles, along with product and program information during meetings and training sessions and communicate to customers in a timely manner
Gather and record customer information required to sell and service customers; utilizing SAP and Excel for account analysis
Initiate effective written correspondence to customers, sending information packets and interface with corporate, field sales and other resources to coordinate special requests (field visit, seminars, etc.)
Coordinate with RSD/ BDM for implementation plans, special promotional campaigns, campaign results and overall sales results
Place and process sales orders effectively and efficiently
What you need for this position:
High school diploma
Strong keyboarding skills and proficient use of Microsoft programs (Word, Excel and PowerPoint)
Must possess at least ONE of the following:
3+ years of experience in a veterinary clinic or pet environment
3+ years of retail sales experience with customer contact
3+ years customer service/consumer affairs call center experience
It’s an advantage to have:
Associate or Bachelor’s Degree,
2+ years of Inside Sales experience and SAP (CRM & R/3) knowledge.
Veterinary Technical degree (LVT, CVT, RVT, AHT) with 2 + years of experience in customer service or call center environment.
Expected Areas of Skills:
Possess excellent oral, written and telephone communication skills
Demonstrate strong motivation to make sales using patience, persuasiveness and persistence
Manage time effectively, meeting Key Performance Indicators with minimal supervision
Ability to determine customer requirements and expectations in order to recommend specific diets, programs and solutions and multitask with shifting priorities
Participating fully in training sessions and meetings; demonstrating the ability to learn product lines, complete nutrition and consultative selling classes and qualify for the VNA
Must be able to work in a standard office environment, while sitting for long periods of time.
