Meta Operations Program Manager in Topeka, Kansas

Summary:

Be part of building new, innovative hardware that radically redefines the way people work, play, and connect! As an Operations Program Manager for Reality Labs, you’ll be the Single Threaded Leader (STL) for a program operations and the primary Operations interface to the core product development teams and other cross-functional organizations. You’ll be responsible for keeping the Operations team updated on program developments that may impact Operations and to keep the Core Team integrated with the work of the Operations team. You’ll be influencing product architecture, total product cost, and holding teams accountable for reaching targets. You’ll gain a wealth of technical understanding of our consumer hardware products and be in a position to influence key design and architecture decisions to meet ambitious quality, schedule, and cost operational targets. As STL, you will own the program from early architecture through launch. You will collaborate closely with Product Managers, Engineering, Industrial Design, Sales, Marketing, Finance, and other Operations teams to bring an operational mindset to product development. You’ll own all operational aspects of product launch, including capex budgeting, factory readiness and weekly New Product Review meetings with leaders.

Operations Program Manager Responsibilities:

  1. Assess, analyze, consolidate, and communicate risk and status clearly and succinctly to management, calling out key issues and presenting options for resolution to the cross-functional executive team

  2. Have overall ownership of product cost and use your technical expertise to drive the engineering and supply chain teams to meet program cost targets at a product and commodity level for your project

  3. Ensure the successful launch of products, meeting its stated cost, quality, schedule, and availability goals

  4. Drive the Operations team to ensure that our partners’ security, materials, equipment, fixtures, staffing, training, and documentation plans are in place

  5. Work closely with Product Managers and Technical Program Managers to define Key Performance Indicators and Product Requirement Documents to enable successful architecture and design locks and according to PDP timeline

  6. Drive the Operations teams towards factory readiness to support NPI builds and mass production (line layout, automation, capacity, CapEx, etc.)

  7. Drive operational (internal and external partners) engagement, from partner selection, operations optimization in support of product objectives requirements

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. BS or higher in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing & Operations Engineering or equivalent experience

  2. 6+ years of experience in Operations Program Management or Operations Management in Supply Chain Operations or New Product Introduction (NPI) roles in hardware technology products

  3. Knowledge of Operations and Supply Chain with demonstrated effective communication skills

  4. Cross-functional leadership experience

  5. Experience with project management and teamwork

  6. Experience working with and managing external suppliers and manufacturers

  1. 10+ years of experience in leading development/delivery of multiple high-volume high-tech products, managing JDM’s with different models of engagement

  2. Business acumen on product cost, operational cost management

  3. Experience navigating ambiguity in a fast-paced environment and prioritizing multiple work threads to maximize impact
