Job Description Summary

This position in Select Accounts (Business Insurance) will partner with senior regional leadership to manage profit and growth for National and Alternative Distribution partners. This role takes an active responsibility in formulating and collaborating on countrywide strategies in conjunction with regulatory, actuarial, and field partners. A Select Market Director may manage individuals who focus on competitor behaviors, marketplace dynamics, pricing segmentation, and line and segment level analysis. This position also participates in line of business strategies at a countrywide level, while collaborating with field leadership to implement decisions.

This position will play a key role in develop pricing strategies and post-monitoring for products deployed via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to comparative raters and digital distribution platforms.

Primary Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Product Management lead role in a collaborative relationship with field partners that supports strategies for National and Alternative Distribution.

  • Potential of leading 2-3 individuals.

  • Analyze, evaluate, and develop conclusions for multiple products in 3-6 lines of business including 15 segments.

  • Take on a leadership role within the region in the development of pricing and growth strategies for National and Alternative Distribution.

  • Initiate strategies based on analysis of data with input from field partners.

  • Develop leadership qualities pertaining to the management of a countrywide line of business.

  • Understanding of interacting variables in marketplace execution.

  • Based on Travelers and industry information, formulate conclusions and make strategic recommendations.

  • Lead a team in the formulation of recommendations based on analysis and interpretation of rates, data, and trends.

  • Take on a leadership role in understanding the landscape of comparative raters and digital distribution platforms, to include tracking market developments, assisting in prioritizing the relative importance of vendors to Travelers, and projecting future market importance.

  • Develop product strategies to maximize performance of products distributed via Application Programming Interfaces (APIs) to comparative raters and digital distribution platforms.

  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Sales, IT, UW, Operations, Analytics, Information Management, and others to socialize and ensure buy-in on own work, and influence work owned by others .

Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree required.

  • Two years of experience in data analytics required.

  • Thorough Knowledge of Microsoft office products (Excel, Word, Powerpoint) required.

Education, Work Experience, & Knowledge

  • Very strong analytical, problem solving and creative thinking skills.

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management, mathematics, management information, finance, actuarial science, economics or other analytics related field preferred.

  • Master’s degree preferred.

  • 4 years’ experience working in financial services industry preferred.

  • Data analysis experience in R, Python, SAS, and/or SQL preferred.

  • General knowledge of Commercial Lines products and systems.

  • General knowledge of Pricing and Actuarial techniques.
