About the Role:

We are looking for an experienced Team Manager to join the Confluent People Team! This role will report to the Senior Director, Global People Operations & HRIS.

The ideal candidate will have expertise in several relevant areas of HR and be excited about jumping in, rolling up their sleeves, and adding immediate value to an integral team at a fast-growing tech company!

This position is based in the US and works in a team environment to support Confluent employees and managers across the US, while collaborating with our International People Operations team, People Shared Services Team, and our HR Informations Systems team managers.

What You Will Do:

  • Own all facets of AMER People Operations that enable an effective employee experience from on-boarding through off-boarding; building and improving an efficient end to end HR operations team with a focus on quality, customer service and automation (i.e., self-service)

  • Oversee the development and maintenance of People programs, employee handbook, policies & procedures, and audit readiness across the US and Canada. (With potential to expand to South America.)

  • Monitor new laws and regulations related to HR compliance and maintain employee handbooks in partnership with employment counsel

  • Partner with the HRIS team to maintain data integrity, develop workflows, update system automations, rollout training and guides for managers and employees

  • Build a metrics-driven organization that leverages reporting, dashboards, and SLA tracking to provide actionable insight on service delivery, operations accuracy, and effectiveness

  • Address questions and problem solve for escalated employee matters; serve as primary investigator as needed.

  • Engage with legal counsel as appropriate and identify employee issues that require escalation

  • Partner closely with Finance, Legal, IT and external vendors to lead and influence all HR operations programs

What You Will Bring:

  • 6+ years of hands-on experience managing teams who handle day to day HR administration

  • Previous experience with Workday is required.

  • Exceptional people management skills with experience building, managing and leading a team

  • In-depth knowledge of employee hire to retire process in the United States; with ability to navigate complexity and build new processes

  • Demonstrated ability to manage teams who handle multiple projects

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interface with all levels of the organization across multiple teams

  • Exhibit a high level of ownership, confidentiality, attention to detail and a penchant for documentation

This position has an annual estimated salary of $121,700 - 143,010 USD, an annual bonus, and a competitive equity package.
