Change Healthcare Instructional Designer in Topeka, Kansas
KEY JOB RESPONSIBILITIES
Create holistic learning experience recommendation(s) and curricula/design documents
Develop on-brand learning content using various modalities, authoring tools, and standard templates for best practices to include but not limited to eLearning, Instructor Led Learning, performance tools and resources, assessments, simulations, and other
Organize and develop, or obtain, training procedure manuals and guides and course materials such as handouts and visual materials, including the method, media, and documentation to be presented
Develop and document all workflow processes and procedures, coordinate with a pathway team as necessary
Monitor, evaluate, or record training activities for program effectiveness as well as develop solutions to less-effective programs
Develop alternative training methods if expected improvements are not seen
What are the required education, experience and skills?
Required: College degree in adult learning or equivalent work experience
Knowledge of principles and methods for curriculum and training design
Knowledge of instructional systems design methodology, rapid design/development methodologies, and assessment tools
Knowledge of adult learning theory and various methods and mediums to effectively train users of all experience levels
Knowledge of multi-media production; audio/video
Proven ability in identifying user needs, analyze and logically organize complex technical information, and transform complex bodies of information into professionally designed, engaging and effective programs
Demonstrated ability to develop detailed storyboards and scripts and building online courseware (eLearning)
Proven ability to work with Subject Matter Experts and virtual teams to design learning solutions in multiple mediums, including eLearning
Graphic design experience that can translate strategies, concepts, ideas and solutions into organized engaging stories with highly impactful visual representations that support the positioning, messaging and branding of the learning solution
Possess excellent project management and organizational skills, ability to research and review processes, and plan and effectively manage time
What other skills and experience would be helpful to have?
Learning Development Applications: Storyline, Captivate, Camtasia, Creative Cloud, Bootstrap, Grovo, etc.
Proficient in MS Office and Adobe Suite products, including authoring tools for development of web-based training
Displays expertise in one of the following areas; Web-based training, Instructor-Led Training, Virtual Instructor-Led Training, Social Networking, or Information networks (on the job)
Ability to communicate well with an audience / customer base of all people at all levels
Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to self-edit
Reading comprehension – ability to understand and make sense of written materials
Critical thinking – using logic and reasoning to identify the strengths and weaknesses of alternative solutions, conclusions or approaches
Judgment and decision making
Emotional intelligence – being aware of others’ reactions and understanding why they act the way they do as well as maintaining control over your own reactions in any given context
Ability for public speaking
Team oriented
Ability to multi-task and remain flexible to accept new and changing priorities
Ability to accept constructive feedback and work towards self-improvement and professional growth
Experience with Revenue Cycle Management a plus
