Citizens Bank Home Mortgage Testing Analyst (UAT) (Remote) in Topeka, Kansas


The Home Mortgage Testing Analyst is a role that requires strong analytical and problem solving skills, and a passion for working in a fast paced environment. Must be self-motivated and proactive individual to ensure delivery of a quality product within stringent timelines. Responsible for UAT testing activities for mortgage originations and requires working knowledge of Mortgage Origination systems (Empower preferred). Tester must be well versed on the fundamentals and methodology of test processes and test execution. Requires a strong ability to work collaboratively in a team environment while being able to work independently.

Primary Responsibilities include:

  • Time Management, flexible with the ability to prioritize assigned tasks in a fast paced environment. Able to meet all timelines.

  • Able to work in a team environment, demonstrating excellent communication skills and ability to work with the team to accomplish tasks and meet deadlines.

  • Able to work individually, self-starter, able to work independently.

  • Able to understand complex Business Requirements and Technical Specifications in an effort to create test scripts, execute test scripts and identify defects.

  • Create, execute and record detailed testing records.

  • Excellent written, verbal and listening skills, ability to interact with team and Business Partners to resolve issues and find solutions.

  • Able to track and communicate progress of assigned tasks.

  • Able to work towards becoming a subject matter expert by taking opportunities to gain knowledge and sharing knowledge by cross training.

  • Able to build strong relationships within the team and with our Business Partners. Able to effectively collaborate.

  • In depth knowledge of Mortgage Originations systems and processes.

  • In depth knowledge and execution of testing fundamentals and methodologies.

  • Attending and participating in meetings.

  • Participates in problem solving and issue resolution.

  • Able to identify and communicate risk, including systems, business, compliance and financial and raise those up to the appropriate parties.


Required Skills/ Experience:

  • 3 years Test/Project experience

  • Ability to work as a team and independently.

  • Excellent time management. Ability to plan and prioritize workload

  • Ability to work under pressure with efficiency and accuracy

  • Ability to effectively communicate (Verbal, Written & Listening) with all levels of the organization

  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office products such as Excel.

  • Application Lifecycle Management (ALM) experience preferred

  • Mortgage or related lending experience required

  • JIRA experience preferred

  • Mortgage system experience preferred (Empower, Blend, etc.)

  • Knowledge of the project development life cycle. Understanding and application of testing fundamentals and methodologies.

  • Able to understand and analyze complex issues. Able to accurately and effectively execute.

    Hours & Work Schedule:

    Hours per week: 40 hours

    Work Schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:00AM – 5:00PM

    *Location: Position is remote/work at home with preferred locations of VA, NJ, TN, TX or RI. Other locations will be considered. Position not available in Colorado.
