GHC - HomeSafe - Sr. IT Business Principal

HomeSafe Alliance is the single global household goods movement manager for USTRANSCOM and the U.S. Armed Forces, Department of Defense civilians, U.S. Coast Guard, and their families. HomeSafe will have a 24/7 global contact center, to support over 320,000 moves globally every year.

As the Sr IT Business Principal, you will work with a cross-functional team to facilitate standing up and improving IT processes and support for HomeSafe Alliance.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Under broad direction, handles IT PMO requirements for one or more work groups or projects.

  • Responsible for reviewing IT processes with customers and supporting customers in use of PMO tools.

  • Serves as tools administrator setting up users and assists in problem solving for end users.

  • This position will lead and facilitate assigned teams in reviewing IT demand in activities such as team meetings and problem solving.

  • Prioritizes and coordinates requests for hardware, software, systems access, and user support for PMO team.

  • Identifies IT opportunities to improve work group or project operations.

  • May function as a lead providing guidance and training for less experienced personnel.

  • Assists in supervising others.

  • Helps resolve IT service delivery and billing issues.

  • Provides basic job training and guidance on a regular basis.

  • Job tasks, correctly performed, impact indirectly on cost containment, efficiency, profitability and operations.

Required Qualifications

  • Skills are typically acquired through completion of an undergraduate degree in a related technology or business field, or equivalent work experience with 2 years of experience in related IT and business processes.

  • Undergraduate degree

  • 3-5 years of experience in computer related field with both technical and process orientation

  • Needs to be highly competent working with Microsoft Office Suite emphasizing Excel and use of diagramming tools such as Visio

  • Must be capable of effective leadership for a diverse set of stakeholders including internal customers, external customers, IT team members, software vendors, and independent contractors.

  • Must have 1+ years of project management / coordination skills with ability to take ownership of multiple tasks / projects to complete accurately and efficiently ensuring customer expectations are met or exceeded.

  • ITIL and PMP certifications a plus

  • Must have a strong delivery and service focus.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills with management, team, and customers.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills

  • Strong problem solving skills
