Guidehouse Fraud Specialist (Senior Consultant) - FFI (Financial Crime, Fraud, and Investigative Services) Technology in Topeka, Kansas

What You Will Do :

  • Analyze and evaluate methodologies to reduce and prevent erroneous benefit payments.

  • Evaluate the techniques states are using to detect and prevent fraud and improper payments.

  • Collaborate with claims department, project teams, state and federal agencies, and industry anti-fraud organizations.

  • Evaluate accounting or benefits systems for weaknesses, design internal controls, determine the degree of organizational fraud risk, interpret data for unusual trends and following up on fraud indicators.

  • Analyze reports, present data to leadership, make recommendations, predict business activity, and set up data analysis and security procedures.

  • Engage states in reviewing adequacy of systems operated by State Workforce Agencies to recover identified overpayments in a timely manner.

  • Ensure adherence to comprehensive range of administrative laws, policies, regulations and precedents relevant to the administration of UI benefits.

  • Provide guidance and recommendations selecting and implementing risk scoring technology, case management systems, fraud analytics, or other technical solutions to help prevent, detect, and investigate fraud associated with UI programs.

  • Generate and configure rulesets, reports, and other components of anti-fraud technology programs.

  • Produce materials for, and execute the delivery of, executive briefings, status reports, summary of investigative findings, or other briefings as required.

What You Will Need :

  • Proficiency with fraud detection software and tools.

  • Experience with implementing or maintaining fraud detection, analytics, or case management systems

  • A Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college/university.

  • A minimum of 3-5 years’ relevant work experience in the private or government sector.

  • Extensive experience with various fraud techniques, tactics, and procedures.

  • Prior experience with risk analysisand/orfraud risk management.

  • Advanced proficiency in word processing, data mining, spreadsheet, and computer software applications.

  • Problem solving and analytical skills with proven ability to turn findings into executable plans.

  • Ability to design project approach and effectively lead team members to achieve project milestones and develop key deliverables on schedule and within budget.

  • Ability to write and edit reports, create briefings for senior executives, research and write articles, customize content for various audiences.

  • Ability to investigate, make sense of, and break down complex client challenges into clear, digestible approaches and solutions.

  • Strong analytical/problem-solving skills.

  • Ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.

  • U.S. citizenship.

What Would Be Nice To Have :

  • Experience in fraud analytics for a federal or state agency.

  • Subject Matter Expertise and/or work experience with state unemployment insurance programs.

The annual salary range for this position is $74,900.00-$149,800.00. Compensation decisions depend on a wide range of factors, including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, security clearances, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs.
