Insight Global Forecasting Financial Analyst in Topeka, Kansas

Job Description

Provide senior management with summary information and explanation of historic and projected spending for all Medicaid/medical assistance programs. Projections are to assist management in understanding trends in Medicaid expenditures and to enhance decision making by staff. Responsible for using these projections to coordinate in the Consensus Caseload Estimating process, and for providing estimates to be used in the preparation of reports of projected spending to CMS, which are used by CMS to determine the amount of federal Medicaid funds that shall be available.

Monitoring - Monitors all Division policies and procedures which may affect persons and costs. Analyzes claims or beneficiary data to determine how the implementation of the policy affect beneficiary and cost projections. Meets as needed with program staff representing eligibility, managed care, each major health care service, and other relevant program staff to review trends in spending and program participation in order to identify and explain changes in actual and projected expenditures.

Data Analysis - Performs additional data analysis for various reports throughout the year utilizing data available through data systems.

Skills and Requirements

communication skills both verbally and written

  • Five years of experience in collecting, evaluating, studying or reporting on statistical, economic, fiscal/budget, legislative or administrative data

  • Proofreading, editing, attention to detail

  • Must be skilled in Excel spreadsheet program null
