Job Title: Financial Services, Technology Transformation – Technology Resiliency Senior

EY is the only professional services firm with a separate business unit (“FSO”) that is dedicated to the financial services marketplace. The opportunity

Working on projects that cross financial sectors, the experiences you gain here will be invaluable. As part of a high-performing team, you will provide advice on technology enablement, as well as the strong affect IT has during major program transformations.

Your key responsibilities

You will support either stand-alone projects or elements of multiple client engagements. You will monitor progress, risks/issues and confirm that key stakeholders are kept informed on progress and outcomes. Seniors are expected to build client relationships, foster an innovative culture and mentor junior consultants while actively participating in our sales program and supporting practice development activities.

We currently have career opportunities in FSO’s practice, focusing on Technology Resiliency Services. The Resiliency Services Senior role is to support the delivery of enterprise level Resiliency consulting services in an advisory capacity. A representative client base includes large multi-national Financial Services clients. Representative services include designing, developing, and deploying resiliency strategies, programs, and solutions to enable and support overall business operations. The Senior is a key member of the EY Resiliency Services Consulting Team that will support the delivery of engagements to conduct Technology Resiliency Assessments, and design Technology Resiliency services aligned to defined business goals and objectives. In addition, the consultant will develop and use applicable Resiliency Operating Model(s) combined with proven industry methodologies, and frameworks to develop engagement collateral, reports, work deliverables, engagement documentation, and project status updates as required. The Senior role will also support the Manager, Senior Manager, and the Business Strategy Executive Leadership and FSO Account Teams as required in the sales and pre-sales stages to develop required presentations and respond to RFIs and RFPs.

We are currently seeking a Senior who will participate as an active member of the engagement delivery team while expanding their Resiliency Services subject matter knowledge and participate in the development and expansion of the practice. More specific duties include:

  • Participate on engagement delivery teams and provide technical assistance, research, and solutions towards successful resiliency improvement programs in collaboration with our clients.

  • Build and develop trusted relationships with clients and work internally across EY advisory teams to help bring them the most comprehensive, end-to-end business and IT transformation services to effectively address their business challenges.

  • Collaborate with team members to deliver engagement programs per statements of work that meet and exceed client expectations.

  • Create high quality work products and outputs based on project requirements.

  • Demonstrate and apply a thorough understanding of complex information systems and technology organizations, including business process and operations knowledge.

  • Display a continued and iterative expansion of knowledge on current industry trends, regulations, emerging perspectives, and technology to support the development and delivery of solutions that create business value.

  • Support the development of practice collateral, enablement tools, sales, and pre-sales response materials including information documents, sales presentations, and RFP responses.

  • Use knowledge of the current IT environment and industry IT trends to identify engagement and client service issues and communicate findings to the engagement team and client management through written correspondence and verbal presentations.

  • Develop an understanding of engagement economics, estimating resource needs, pricing work and developing project plans.

  • Develop time management skills and leverage current technology to enhance the effectiveness of deliverables and services.

  • Support the ability to architect, build, and deliver complex solutions leveraging industry leading practices and customization based on regulatory mandates, client needs and operational capabilities.

  • Analyze and document client issues, requirements, and insights drawn from past experiences with other clients to determine root causes and recommend suggested improvements.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have

  • B.A., B.S or equivalent degree in computer science or technology, business administration, finance, or engineering

OR

  • Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems Management, Accounting or Finance

In addition to the above, we require experience in the following technical competencies:

  • Two or more years direct experience in Business Continuity Management, Disaster Recovery, Crisis Management, Resiliency or Technology Environments, Architecture and Design services (architecture, engineering design and development, service design, operations and delivery, disaster recovery, and application architecture).

  • IT Governance, Risk and Controls

  • IT Operating Models (organizational and functional structures, skills and competency planning, etc.)

In addition to the above, we require experience in the following Standards, Frameworks and Methodologies:

  • Two years of experience using industry leading IT methodologies and management processes. Preferred frameworks include CMMI, COBIT, ITIL, Six Sigma, ISO 27001, ISO 22301, TOGAF, IVI, NIST 800-53, project management life cycles, systems development life cycles, PMBOK, Prince2, or data center operations.

In addition to the above, we require the following industry experience:

  • Financial Services industry experience

  • Two years of experience working in the IT group or within an Enterprise BC/DR/Crisis Management/Resiliency area at a financial services company or comparable experience working as a consultant in a professional services firm delivering advisory services on resiliency solutions.

  • Experience developing presentations and reports that communicate assessment gaps/findings to both technical, non-technical audiences, and senior executives.

  • Experience using the following Financial Services regulatory bodies and references such as FFIEC, OCC, FINRA, FHFA, CFTC, SEC, Dodd-Frank and FSARC.

You will likely spend a significant amount of time onsite with our clients. As such, you must have the ability to travel in accordance with client requirements. This travel can be as much as 80% to 100% of a work week.

  • Ability to record and summarize detailed notes

Industry experience:

  • Understanding of commercial and retail banking, investment, capital markets, insurance, and or related industries and operations preferred

  • Prior experience working with IT Leadership (CIO, CTO, or IT Director), business leadership (CFO, COO, or Business Unit President), or Risk and Audit offices highly desired

  • Broad knowledge of IT functions and IT operations and how IT enables the business through effective strategic planning, governance and management discipline

Certifications:

  • ITIL V3/V4

  • PMP

  • CRISC, CISA, or CISM

  • ABCP, CBCP, or MBCP

Technology and Risk Management Tooling:

  • Configuration management database tools (e.g. ServiceNow)

• The salary range for this position in Stamford is $92,200- $171,300

• The salary range for this position in Hartford is $83,800- $155,700
