Meta Energy Analyst (Rates) in Topeka, Kansas


Our data centers are the foundation upon which our rapidly scaling infrastructure efficiently operates to deliver our innovative services. Meta is seeking an experienced and self-motivated individual to join our Energy Analytics team. In this role, you will be a key contributor to Meta’s data center energy strategy and become an expert on the energy rates and usage for Facebook’s growing portfolio of data centers.

Required Skills:

Energy Analyst (Rates) Responsibilities:

  1. Serve as an expert on energy rates and usage for Meta’s growing portfolio of data centers

  2. Help inform Meta’s supply strategy and approach in key US and European energy markets

  3. Create and maintain models to forecast energy usage and analyze electric rate impacts for current and future data center sites

  4. Deliver monthly and annual summaries of key energy metrics to the Global Energy team and internal stakeholders

  5. Engage with Infrastructure stakeholders to track data center design and capacity engineering trends to improve load forecasting methodologies and support energy efficiency efforts

  6. Work with Commercial Energy Managers to analyze possible rate structures for new data center locations

  7. Work with utility and internal partners to ensure timely bill payment and resolve billing issues as needed

Minimum Qualifications:

  1. Bachelor's degree in a business, finance or technical discipline

  2. 5+ years of relevant work experience with an electric utility, financial institution, energy supplier, renewable energy project developer, or energy intensive consumer

  3. Hands-on experience analyzing and interpreting energy usage data, electric tariffs, and wholesale energy market data

  4. Advanced Excel skills and experience working with large data sets

  5. Experience building cross-functional relationships and managing multiple workstreams concurrently

  6. Proven communications skills

  1. Experience with Tableau or other data visualization software

  2. Experience with renewable energy generation data

  3. Experience working with electric utilities

  4. Proficiency in SQL and Python
