About the Team
Reporting to the Head of Procurement & Sourcing, the Director, Direct Sourcing will manage the team responsible for sourcing the critical commodities of datacenters, hardware, telephony and services integral to the success of Zoom's internal and cloud infrastructure. You will also lead a cross-functional effort to improve the business processes and commodity supply chain throughout the product life cycle. The person in this role will define the entire commodity strategy for Direct Sourcing for Zoom.
About the Role
Establish relationships with key stakeholders & supplier executives, and maintain a high level of industry knowledge and supplier/market conditions.
Lead a cross-functional effort to reduce lead times, cost, improve quality and reduce financial exposure.
Lead engagement with network sourcing partners, both internally and externally, to deliver solutions for multiple future projects in development.
Managing the strategic supplier relationships and sourcing of the Data Center/Telecommunications infrastructure equipment, materials and services
Partner with internal stakeholders to develop and implement strategic sourcing strategies in support of the near, mid, and long-range plans
Lead the cross-functional engagement to develop, implement and manage programs for supplier selection, supplier performance management, and supply base optimization based on market, financial, and business projections
Lead and develop team up to 3 direct reports
Work cross-functionally to identify and develop suppliers to bring advanced technologies and products to market that meet and/or exceed Zoom's long-term requirements
Recommends qualified suppliers that meet both stakeholder, competitive cost and product standards
Ensure supplier selection process and component qualification meet all engineering and business requirements.
Use benchmarking to demonstrate position in the market place
Develop strong stakeholder support and cooperation on assigned commodities.
Ensuring commodity spend is under management and contract compliance.
About You
Extensive knowledge in Hardware, Datacenter, Telecom, Unified Communications, Wireless and Networking space. The candidate will be experienced in several of the sub-categories.
At least ten (10) years experience in sourcing datacenters and services.
At least three (3) years managing commodity managers and implementing commodity strategies.
Knowledge of Network Telephony, IP routing, call monitoring, desktop messaging software, and Session Initiation Protocol (SIP) trunking.
Knowledge of voice and data communications systems, service providers, and network system architecture
Advanced knowledge of hardware and software vendors associated with data centers
Advanced knowledge of the datacenter colocation and Cloud service providers
Established network of vendors in this space
Excellent analytical and judgment skills.
Master's degree or higher, supply chain or engineering preferred.
Strategic Sourcing, Opportunity Analysis, and Contract Negotiations.
Demonstrated ability to identify business process issues and drive process improvement.
Open-minded self-starter with the ability to adapt, improvise and problem solve.
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks and projects with various stakeholders
Organizational skills to manage and track transactional details.
Fluency in English
Ability to travel domestically and internationally up to 10% of the time
